Hi My name is Rich Cole I'm the owner of RLCBoats.com I specialize in Mercrusier Alpha 1 drives and small I/O V bottoms 24 foot or less. I have a easy online parts order system for the Alpha drive. I also offer performance upgrade packages. Give me a call or IM me if you have any question on set up or performance goals in mind. Any Register check mate member gets 15% off of any purchase.

So what kind of upgrades do ya. are they for a alpha 1 ss drive.
The Alpha SS uses a 2.4 lower out board foot and not a Alpha 1 foot. I can put a stronger upper gear set and put a fat shaft in the lower foot. That's the best you can do with the Alpha SS.

Thats cool. SO i am running a 383 stroker motor with a blower. Roughly 600hp. Will that help handle the hp better then the stock drive. And how much would it cost.

Yes it will help 110% have you run that drive behind your motor yet. The fat shaft conversion kit for your lower foot is $1500 plus installation. With your Check-mateBoats discount the installation is almost free. A 2 week turn a round normanly and if you arange it with us and send a deposit we can cut that down to a 3 day turn around

:welcome:

i actually saw your ad over on S&F, I read the tripple digits article, that was pretty cool. i almost called you with a question..

Ideas, ideas...i always thought that if i ever had problems with my Alpha that i would just plain send it out have the boat swapped over to a Bravo unit. Just curious, how does beefin' up an Alpha compare, price wise, to doin a Bravo conversion?? Cool website, i like the old Stingray Maxxim, the shorty Alpha looks pretty cool too!!

Thank you. It's cheaper and faster in the long run. I have my Alphas holding up to 650+ HP and thats on a 24 foot or less Boat. I can raise your X demension as much as 5 inches. It's 100% bolt on with no transom mods. On my web site the list price $7499 but what I didn't realize is people have there old drives coming off the boat so im going to start taking those in on trade like a core charge and give them $1000.00 off as long as it's not blown up. So now the price is $6499 plus shipping.

You can buy a bravo and glass up your transom rasie x demension modifed your exshaust change your steering around modifed your engine hatch spend wheel barow full of money and still not go as fast as you would with the Alpha for 6500 dollars. On back to back test the alpha was faster then the bravo hands down not even close. No fiber glass involed no moving your exshaust no mods to your steering or engine hatch just bolt it up and go. It saves thousand of dollars and a alot of time. In a hour time or less you can raise your x demension up to 5 inches.

Not bad, i kinda like that idea. I don't plan on ever building any crazy motor for my Enchanter, i would just like to go around 400 Hp, but i don't like the thought of the stock Alpha on the back even with that kinda Hp. I didn't think there was a whole lot that could done to seriously upgrade and Alpha. I will keep this in mind!

Food for thought, there is nothing stock about the Alphas I build there all customs shafts and parts I make. If I did not it would never hold up to that kind of HP and torque.

I too am running a higher HP 383 with a sterndrive engineering alpha. I got about 2 years left on the "no fault" warr. I will have to see how it holds the power but this is a worry of mine. It don't matter how fast, or how much power you make if you don't make it back to the trailer at the end of the day. I am also running a land & sea stern jack with my setup.

Good write up on triple digits!!!

Thank You. I haven't heard anything bad yet about the SEI drives, we are soon going to be testing them. We have tested the land and sea stern jack and have gone faster and have had better results with out it.
Any time you set a outdrive or a outboard engine back you need to go up with it.
