running out of water

how do i safely run the motor in my boat while its on the trailor ? i know i need to run water through it somehow, but am not sure how or where to do it its a v-6 i/o

Just go buy yourself some of those black "mouse ears" that you hook up to your garden hose, put the muffs over your water pick-up on the lower unit, turn the water on, and your good to go.

a good set of ear muffs are important.. the cheepies fall off... and then you toast a water pump.. and your not supposed to run much more than a lil off idle.. more than a thousand rpm isnt reccomended.. and keep an eye on your garden hose.. just to make sure your water pump isnt sucking the hose closed..
