i have a checkmate predictor that i restored for my senior project in high school last spring. my dad bought this boat new from the checkmate factory in 1988 and then sold it a year later. the boat was vined as an 87 but my dad believes this was the prototype boat for when they restyled the deck of the predictor because it was battleship grey and it was already drilled for a motor when he bought it from the factory. i found it abandoned 3 years ago and bought it for 500$ and the 115 Suzuki that was on it ran.. well for a few days, then it threw a rod through the case. for the project i had the seats redone and completely redid the floor. i also added some fiberglass and a 1/4 inch plate on the transom. I had it rigged with a 150 merc and i finally got it in the water a few weeks ago.
if any one knows the history about this boat at the checkmate factory please let me kno.. thanks, glenn
