89 hull. i have a 6inch pro hi jackerplate.. the motor is a 25inch 225 evinrude 91'. i know this is the wrong shaft. can somone give me tips on mounting height, prop, what speed schould i be at. any help would be great thank you.

The higher the better but that mostly depends on what prop you are running, some props do not like being jacked up at all. with a 225 you can only hit 70 mph so jacking way up does not help you much any ways. Starflites love setback, i run 13" and some people run as much as 20" just be sure to put some sort of extra support for the transom, I have 1\4" thick aluminum plates on both sides of my transom. Move as much weight to the back as possible and remove any water soaked foam from bow and floor, get yourself a cheap handheld GPS, it's the easiest way to measure the speed increase from the changes you make. -shane:cheers:

you will have to mount the engine all the way up on the jackplate and jack it all the way up. then you may not even be at the right height.

thanks for the advice everyone.... now what prop schould i get. iam new to checkmates i got this hull and motor as a debt pay offf.
