I end up with a Superboat? I've been looking for somthing to handle bigger water and have considered a superboat 24. There is a nice one on Speedwake for sale, also its listed on S&F. I've been keeping my eyes open for a checkie that would work, too. The 24 convincor I found on here with 47hrs was sold by the time I called on it:irked:.

The requirements: Gotta be able to handle lake erie- I figure 24ft is a min.
Sleep two in the cuddy, have a car motor with low hrs on it, run 70+, and fit into a 7'6" door opening (I'm building a garage- was planning on 7'6" door, maybe I can go 8). I see that Mikes zt240 is up for sale, but its a little more than I'd like to spend (sounds like a really nice boat, though).

Any ideas? We'd still be cool if I end up with a superboat, right?:p (I'm keepin the Exciter):bigthumb:
 
I've been looking for that excact magical boat myself for a while.I ended up with a new kitchen this year!:thumb:
 
you should be o.k with the door depending on how high the boat sits on the trailer. I have that same door size and my 251 barley fits in it, i did have to take the top trim off the frame on the outside because of the windshield. good luck with your search if i see anything ill let you know.:bigthumb::cheers:
 
I'll probably end up building it with an 8ft door opening. It won't cost that much more and I know I'll regret it later if I don't. I've been looking in the 24-28ft range. A superboat, convincor, and zt series all would work. I've been kicking around upping my price range a little. Couple of nice ZTs out there... Kelly O's comes to mind:devil:
 
let me correct myself on my quote, it may work depending on what boat, boat size and how high it sits on the trailer. my buddies 253 fits but he had a custom low beam trailer made before picking the boat up at the factory, all because he didnt have room to put in a 8 foot door. i would defiantly put in a 8 footer if there is room. better be safe than sorry
 
I think we all need to get on the same page. I am talking width my Convincor is a 96 and it has a 99 inch beam which is 8 foot 3 inches wide. I have 2 shops 1 shop has 9 foot wide doors and I can not get the boat in without major difficulty I am talking their is a half inch on each side. Which this requires a straight in shot and and the help of 2 people watching both sides. I stuck this boat in their once and it took 1 hour to get it back out because I got it a bit crooked after going in. My other shop has 10 foot wide doors and is much easier.

I will be honest with you if you thinking about going bigger a 10 foot wide door is the only way to go.
 
Well, I was talking about height. I'm using one 10' or 12' wide door and one 16' wide. Was originally going to be 7'6" high openings, but now maybe 8ft. I'm going to use the smaller door for the check and seadoo, the large one for a bigger boat. The garage will end up being a 28X40' with the doors on the long side. I figure that I can put a large boat in sideways thru the 16' door, if I need to, and with it being 28ft deep shouldn't have to turn it much.:thumb:
 
That is a sweet 270!

I have a 2001 240 Convincor on a C Hawk trailer and a three car garage. The main door in my garage is 7 foot tall and 17 foot wide. My boat fits in on the top side by about 1 inch or less, then I park it on an angle. Bigger is always better but 7 1/2 foot tall door will accomodate many go fast style boats in the 22 to 25 foot range. The depth is more likely to be your issue, once you figure in tongue, outdrive, etc.

just take in mine your depth, b/c i had a 26ft deep garage when i had my 219, and with that boat i needed atleast 24 foot, and when i bought my 251 i extended my garage to 40 foot. and with this boat i need atleast 31 feet to get the whole trailer in, so be careful to take that in mine to when looking at boats. also depending on the trailer, some have alot longer tongues on them. just my $.02

A ZT280 on a c-hawk trailer is 31.5ft long drive to tounge. The bay for the larger boat will have a 16 wide door and is 28 deep by 21 across (the extra space is on one side of the door, like a 2.5 garage). I figured it should be enough room for 28footer backed in at an angle.
