STAT'S OF BAJA AND CHECKMATE

Why the Baja rantings??? It's just the popular competitor. Like someone else said, Ford vs. Chevy, Mustang vs Camaro. I love my Checkmate. I don't think Baja builds a 'BAD' boat. They look good and handle well. They just don't have 'SOUL'. That's fine for a lot of people, but I think you can have more pride in something more your own. Baja builds a decent boat at a decent price. If they didn't ,then they would not have sold all them boats!

As mentioned earlier, anytime you own an enthusiast driven piece of machinery, you tend to looks for a competitor. The chevy/ford fight is classic. Both have their great models and specs to go with. My angle is Checkmate has consistantly built strong fast boats in a most proper manner. Baja has gone from handbuilt and proper, to mass-produced methods and the quality has been up and down like a yo-yo. And yes, Checkmates have a soul.

some what of the underdog story as well , family business ,small attention to detail etc ... as for me i'm an american motors type similar concept i have a javelin you have a camero or mustang etc...

Thats close it was more like Checkmate is hand laid and Baja is Chopper guns.

I am going to stop ragging Baja now because if the economy does not pick up I am going to have to sell my Checkmate and buy a cheaper boat "BAJA"
:D

well like i have said before Baja was the bayliner of the performance boat market, not a bad boat by no means, not great either...just did keep the performance boat market available to as Red says the average joe... now with reggie not sure where he's going to guide it..but he may be thinking the same thing with the economy...a way to sell performance boats as most of the fountains being build not are fishing boats ?? what a strange trips it's been....
