well as all of you know i sold the flite.....when i bought that boat the first thing i did was went and bought a "seloc" manuall for the motor on it. it helped me a ton for the little things that i could do here at home! well now that i have the new boat and the bbc i was wondering if there was a recomended book-manual? something to get me more familiarized with what i have? i have never owned an i/o before and at that something like a bbc....i do have a great mechanic that i trust and is very knowligable about this motor but i would like to know more for my sake! i cant keep calling big red with stupid questions:shakehead: thanks for the help though:thumb: anyways, do you guys know of any books-manuals out there that might give simple specs and such for zz502? i have looked online and found some but would rather not spend that kinda money unless i know it will benefit:eyecrazy: and you guys would know what i will need to come up to speed:poke: thanks guys:cheers:

When I go out to my storage unit I check to see if I have a spare, I'll be heading out there tommorow to put the rest of my interior in. I'll call you if I have one. Did you ever figure out the the issue with flushing the motor on the garden hose?

You have a problem, just about everything under your hatch is after market. The only merc manual you can buy to help would be one on the drive. I can give you your engine specs.

Even just about all your accessories are different

well then:irked:that being said....the drive i'm not so concerned about, yet i would like to know how this motor operates exactly! the oil system, cooling system, electronics ect ect....remember big red you are dealing with a dummy when it comes to this stuff:sick: as for the specs i will leave that to you! you will be the guy i call when i have a question and need those answeres! (thats why my mechanic did not get the call about it in the first place);) not that he doesnt know his stuff but obviuosly you know your motors, and its close to what you had!

Who said I was doggin' ya??? Just pokin' fun man thats all! You feel exactly how I felt when I went from the Evinrude 50hp to the Merc XR2...CLUELESS! (At least thats how I was!) Nothing better then to have a good teacher at hand....Sounds like Big Red is exactly who you need on your side! :bigthumb:

You've got more balls then me just for buying the dang thing! LMAO!

I'd still whoop your arse, big guy! ;)

I have my 1986 C-10 book on top of my mercruiser book. Between the two I have found out almost everything I need to know. What I cant find, I ask people that do know (MK or my neighbor)!

i own a selco book for my bbc. works great for stock engines. wont help much on some performance stuff. there are other books at amazon.com for the performace tuning.
