Well I'm glad to see that Suzi hasn't let a few lb's keep her off the water!

Went for the last ride of the season two Saturdays ago, my new old friend Garret and his buddy needed help in bringing his buddies new 88 formula SRT 31 from Cleveland. Having made the trip before, I agreed to go. Had great ride, about 65 miles from Cleveland to Put-In-BAY and another 35 miles from PIB to south of Detroit. I forgot how fun it was to boat by compass headings You learn to trust yourself.

Nice 2 owner boat with only 480 hrs

Good Times, except for when the wife found out it took $300 to get his new toy home :eyecrazy::pissed::shakehead:

Always wanted to make that run in a powerboat. Looks like nice conditions to run in for the trip. I wonder how much it would cost in the Starflite:surf:

STARFLITE? You don't go anywhere on Erie, unless your prepared for anything from dead calm to 10 ftrs in an afternoon! With that being said, One Friday after an open house at the checkmate factory, I put in at Sandusky Bay and ran the 15 miles over to PIB island in 35 minutes, My plan to head back early Saturday morning was derailed by a serious lack of sleep:banana: Headed out about 1pm, come around the island right into 4-6-8 ftrs. took 2.5 hrs to get those 15 miles. Iwas the only idoit out there too! Hell there was 3 ftrs in Sandusky Bay.

The next summer or two I plan on taking the ZT on a 220 mile trip up the Canada's eastern shore of Lake Huron, up to Topermory on the tip of the Bruce penninsula

I grew up on Lake Erie, I hear you on the ever changing conditions.
Nevertheless the forecasts have become more accurate when it comes down to the rough weather and when the breeze is going to come in. Certainly helps with planning.
On the other hand you left out one option in your story, you could have stayed another day and enjoyed Frosty's a little longer:cheers:

Yeh, the rise smart phones made everyone their own personal weather person. Never thought about until a few yrs ago a ref at kids soccer games said " When the weather turns, instead of the parents heading for the cars, they start reaching for their phones".

I didn't make the 35 mile run this year from downriver, But you better believe I'll there a few times next season! And If I don't make out in the morning I'll be staying over!

Yes, The two guys I came back with from cleveland, both never been over to PIB. When we stopped for fuel at PIB (i expected a ghost town) the place was jumping, no empty dock space, it was like cooler summer weekend. But anyway their like HELL HEY, we're coming back. So we have a 24ZT, 25 convincor, and that 31 formula to get over there on.
