Hello Checkmate World

For the last 5 weeks I have been working on restoring/fixing up a friends 1984 Predictor with a Evinrude 120hp V4 Looper. Today, after many many hours of cutting, itching, removing foam, itching, cutting some more, itching more, replacing engine parts, cleaning hands etc... We took the Predictor out on a small lake just to shake down the engine. All I can say, is there is nothing like it. I have been on boats since I was a kid, mostly fishing, and this thing is an absolute riot. I am in love with what will be mine to use, friend got a much bigger boat a few years back, sparkly red Predictor.

Tomorrow the floor goes in, carpet mid week and I'll make sure to post pics of the re-hab. I can't wait to get it on a big lake and really open it up.

Here is a shot of the Predictor out on the water last weekend. I have done nothing but wash the boat at this point. I've got Aqua-buff waiting on my desk at work!

Also attached is an image of the original interior all back together. This is an 84 hull, so I think its incredible how well the interior stood up to the harsh Boston winters.

Our little boat will be making its rounds of New England over the next few weeks. Should spend a weekend at Lake Sunapee. A weekend at Winnipesaukee and half a week near Belgrade Lakes Maine. I really love this little boat and can't wait to show it off. SOOOO much more character than most other things out on the water. To think it started off as a water logged, not running rotted mess 7 weeks ago!
