The New ZT275???

same stuff , different day. if doug is so set on making baja's, why must he drag checkmates into his fantacy. reggie is the baja man now,but his fate seems to be the same as others before.

I think I have the solution.

Last time I checked, they are still building around 17 different "true" Checkmate models. Instead of complaining about these 4 new models, try sitting down with your significant other and explain how you would like help the economy and the marine industry by buying a new Checkmate (by Checkmate). Its a win - win situation for alot of people!

Banks - Making interest off new loans
Insurance Companys - Doing their thing
Checkmate - New money for research & development on NEW tooling
Checkmate employees - Providing a steady paycheck
Divorce Lawyers - Some of your old ladys wont get it

Trailers, vendors, gas & oil, beer..............the list goes on forever!

Come on guys, dont be selfish. Do the right thing!

Great post.

In the great scheme of things what a few of us think about Checkmates that come out of certain molds doesn't much matter. It's the folks who vote with their Check-books that matter. If they like those Baja-mates people will buy them. If not then Checkmate will have to reevaluate those boats that don't sell.

My personal opinion is that they don't really turn me on, but if Checkmate is selling enough of them to help the company stay afloat then more power to 'em.

The last I recall this is a Checkmate website and has been for many years. The Baja bashing has went on long before Doug ever stepped foot in Checkmate. Its not going to stop and Doug taking Baja molds and dragging them into Checkmate factory only put fuel to the fire and if we gave 2 craps about them we would be on the Baja site.

Yes Doug can build whatever he wishes and yes we can still bash the boats. I dont see you sporting a new boat but you hang around Checkmate very often. Only a fool would buy a new boat now when the market is flooded with 2 year left overs and killer deals on used ones.

I dont care who's seats they put in them or how many stripes they put in the gel its still looks 100% like a Baja. Its funny when people on other sites see it and say isn't that a baja but it has a Checkmate sticker on it.

My post was more about the current 17 or so non-Baja Checkmates in the line-up. Your right, I dont have a new boat. I personally dont have the coin at the moment. I could drain my savings and pay cash for one of the smaller boats in the line up like a 1600 but I already have 2 small boats. I'll hold out for something in the 25' range that I can use. I want something I can overnight in and still easily trailer an hour each way. Maybe if I take one used boat off the market, that guy can buy the new boat! haha!

I understand completely what you are saying here, but I guess if a guy has the money to spend on something thats not a necessity like a boat, he'll order exactly what he wants instead of settling for anything else.

.

A new 1600 is 25000. ballpark price. You could sell your 2 small boats take your savings that you said could buy a new 1600 and order that new Beckmate the way you want it and only finace half of it. You would be doing Checkmate a big favor.
