The stereo is coming together...

Obviously still a work in progress, but it sounds so good I had to come inside and share with you guys. Still gotta get the subs covered and run some trim on the edge of the holes. The grills will mount on the outside of cut throughs in the panel and be oversized a bit to cover the disaster that the holes/surrounding carpet turned into Not exactly how I planned, but I think I can pick up the pieces. Most importantly, it sounds incredible. I'll probably upgrade the alpine highs and the cheap Pyle 4 channel it came with in the next few months, but they get the job done for now.Subs are Resonant Engineering MT 10's running off a Solid Audio F15D. They are getting about 750-800 watts each at volume(real power, not inflated numbers). Anyone who knows about RE will tell you these things are beasts. Please excuse the dirt. Click on the top two for video. More to come when its finished...

Very Cool!

Looks great, will the grills cover the holes? What type of tool did you use to cut the circles?

I put a system in my 2100 last summer and am so pleased with the results.

It really adds to the boating experience (the girls love to dance when the music is turned up) ;)

Thanks

Thanks man. I'm using 12" grills so they will mount and cover the cut/carpet edge. I started out using a jigsaw(not a good time). The bottom didnt have clearance for it so I ended up using a sawz-all. That's the reason the cuts ended up a little what you could call unattractive. Once the grills are on, I think it will look pretty clean and hopefully they do a decent job of keeping moisture of the cones.

I was going to suggest that:bigthumb:.. Really is an easy fix.

Will the grills be a little off center due to floor clearance? Either way it will be fine.

Sometimes you just "get in the moment" and keep cutting. It happens to me all the time! lol

Enjoy the new sound.

I also have a ZT280(2000') and i am getting ready to put in 2-10" subs under the seat. I went ahead and moved the batteries to the engine compartment to make room to mount my two 500watt kenwood amps. I am trying to match the set up i had in my last boat(lost in big D) at least i got to keep the speakers, amps and radio...:). I had the amps and subs under the rear seat and it worked out pretty good. I haven't taken good measurements on mine yet but i think the 10" subs are going to be tight to fit in the face of the enclosure.

I wouldn't sweat the holes too much, once you put the grills on and the Honies are dancing no one will notice...:)
