i wouldnt go completly black though
leave it to where you can see the light on the nose when its turned off .. that way incase you are out and something happens where you have to drive behind the glass youll be able to

that is the only thing I am afraid of,,sometimes I get down to look threw the glass,so that i can hear how my engine is running and I am wearing sunglasses,I am afraid I won't be able to use the window at all,,but if i use the cheap stuff,i can always peel it off..:bounce::banana:

As long as the sun is out you will be able to see through some pretty dark tint. My windshield is pretty small so I normally look over the top, but its no problem to see through.

I'd say get some 5% from Pepboys or Autozone, or a car parts store where your from. Just make sure it's the UV resistant kind, otherwise it'll turn purple and peel and bubble.

Your windows are pretty flat, and maybe only one curve, and dont look complex at all. Just cut them to fit perfect on the outside of the window, and then peel, and use LOTS OF SOAPY WATER when putting them on, and make sure not to kink the tint, otherwise it'll look cheesy.

But i'd say tint it out! I did my boat with 5% and it barely looks tinted when it's outside in the sun. With a car, you have a roof, and there's no light inside... with a boat, theres light on both sides of the window so it doesn't look as dark

DON"T Tint the outside of the glass:brickwall:

Tint the inside!

I used 5% on my two previous Chackmates and it came out great (and black). Tinting is not easy, especially for a first time do it yourself. If you do do it yourself make sue you have at least two people there to give you a hand.

Oh yeah. It will be a heck of alot easier if you drill the rivits out of the windshield frame and remove the glass so you can tint it indoors on a flat surface.

Boston Predictor, its funny you say tinting is not easy the first time. Some years ago illMATTic and I used to gage how angry/frustrated we were to a "window tint tantrum". There was more than once while I was tinting some windows, I started to sweat, crumpled up all the tint, let out a string of curse words, and went in the house. That stuff can really test your patience.

I don't see any window tint!

Hobie, you can see through your windshield with pretty dark tint while the suns out. Problem is ducking rain and maybe mosquitos in the evening (Our state bird is a Mosquito, mind you) is low light situations which are very difficult to see through dark tint. A moderate tint might be best for all around. All depends on what you want. Dark looks great but can be a problem when you don't need any more problems. My windshield has what I believe to be a factory tint. It's eveident, but not so dark that I can't see through it in a frog choking thunderstorm...don't ask me how I know...

Boston Predictor, I believe RIhondaturbo was meaning to place the tint on the outside of the wndshield just to cut it to size. Then remove the backing and apply it to the inside. This is standard practice by professional automotive tinters. In this case, it would be pretty easy as the contours are not complext and the outside is easy to get to.

that is glass right becuase if it is any sort of plastic such and plexi or lexan those are to porus of materials to tint. they will turn out fine at first but they WILL bubble in time. If they do turn out to be plastic and not glass just get some new tinted plastic ones made by local plastic suppliers. They can cut and shape them exactly to what you have on yours just take yours there.

Oops I read it too fast. I didnt know that that was the protocol for window tinters, as mine came in a kit for my car.

Tint makes everything look better:bigthumb:

Boat looks MUCH cleaner with the clear glass...
Not enough black to support it, all that white looks smooth with clear.

looks like black tint is winning,,,I think black looks bad ass on red,,,we will see in the spring..i got lots of other work to do on this boat over the winter..

boooooo on limo tint. if it were my boat and i had to tint it i would only do 35%.

OOOOOORRRRRRR you could go to Lowe's and purchase some of the semi-mirror tint made by GILA. it is used on house windows to reflect sun thus reducing internal house temperature. there are 3 different shades. I used the medium on the rear window of my truck. it gives you a custom look without being such a contrast in color.

it kind of looks like factory tint on a Lexus or Nissan SUV. IMHO it would go great with your color combo and silver frame.

you want this one right here. http://www.gilafilms.com/Residential/window-film-heat-platinum.htm

See, now that's what I'm talking about. I'm w/illMATTic and appollo1 on the 20-35% tint. There's GOING to be a time when your going to have to see through it at night or in another "low visibility" situation and you'll be glad it's nt limo'd. JMHO.

i say definitely tint them...smoked out looks sooo much better....my enchanter has lightly tinted windows but im about to make them darker..and as far as tinting them...it should be a breese...ive tinted many windows in cars and trucks and your windows wont be half as hard...as far as visability...your gonna give some up especially at night but for the look i think its definatly worth it...they have as dark as 2.5%.. also most auto places that do tinting and other work would probably do it for cheap....if u didnt want to mess with it

I agree... that medium tint on the white looks sweet!! Something to think about on my new one.:surf:

At auto zone they have 5% static cling tint. It sticks without glue. you can try that first and then if you like it go for the real deal, but id like the convienence of being able to pull it off.
