trouble gettimg on plane

Hello everyone. Just took out my '88 Spectra with a Johnson 150GT and could not get her on plane. Ran around with my bow reaching the ski it was embarrassing. I have electric trim and just cant seem to get my nose down in a reasonable amount of time. Any advice?

I think you have some motor issues. I would guess it is not running on all cylinders.

Dumb question. You are starting out with the engine trimmed down, correct? Then as she starts to plane bring the engne up as needed for best speed. Your description of the nose up so high makes it sound like the engine may not be trimmed down far enough for starting out.

No, Nerd. I was trying to find out if this guy (in NJ, like me) is at any of the same places as me. I'm always looking for people to boat with. With the exception of total moroffs, Nerd.

LOL, note the time I posted that, I must have thought it was funny.

Too much weight in the rear off the boat will do this as well. I once tried to create a big wake for wakeboarding with my boat. Put nine 5 gal water containers(450lbs) in the rear under the hatch. The boat could not get on plane.
