upstate new york checkies

sorry i have not been online in a long time but had some life issues to deal with. last i left this we were talking about getting together. well let me update the group. had a bone head machanic time my engine and he never used a timeing light to the best of my knowledge. bottom line never let anyone you dont trust work on your boat. he left it retarded too much and it ran hot enough to blow holes in my stainless marine risers. gulped some water and 6500 hundred later i have the old 454mag bored 10th over, now 460 cubes. new je pistons, new push rods, new roller rockers, new merlin intake, new holly 850 dp, and now she has been dynoed at 550hp 600 ft/tork only 1.5 hrs of run time for break in. that being said, i started the restoration on absolutely the fall befor last because of the engine issue. the old regular wooden motor mount had some rot so i cut them out and sandwitched stainless steel plates to both sides of the stringers and welded a stainless steel flange 90 degrees off the plate to mount an offshore engine mount to. that was as far as i got before my wife desided to have triplet boys. after a very hard pregnancey we lost one and had to spend most of last summer taking care of the other two. jump forward to this spring. i got absolutley out of storage 2 weeks ago and now its time to get her dack together. oh and by the way she is going to be renamed "FULL BOAT" With aces and threes. i still reside in irodiquiot but only till the end of may. sold my house and thats how long i have to get her together and back in the water.

i would also like to start a checkmate chapter here in rochester. if there are any checkies out there that are local to the rochester area post and lets get together. i am up most nights till 11 pm working on her and would love any help offered. you can also call me localy at 749-1071 and we can make plans.

thanks and time to get back to the water! speed spry and air thats all that maters!
