"Wanted" Vent Covers

My 84 Convincor has the chrome engine compartment covers and have some chrome peeling on them.... Looking to either replace or does someone have any experience (painting, re-chroming) these? Boat has 4 of these one on each side and 2 on the back....

Re-chromeing is not something the everyday Joe can do on his own. It is a pretty expensive thing to get done somewhere too. I stumbled across this site years ago with the intensions of giving it a try. You can view video's on youtube of the application it looks pretty simple. If you give it a try let me know how it works.

Thanks Ill have to check out MKHammer's stuff hadnt looked there yet...

I prolly wasnt planning on rechomeing these myself (I have a friend who owns a chrome plateing shop) I was kinda thinking of peeling the chrome back and painting but I dont know just wondered if anyone else had any experience. I'm just afraid this will be much like the rest of the items I look for on this boat I little difficult to find....

Probably cheaper and easier to buy new ones, unless your friend gives you a good price.
