I've seen a lot of posts, in some way, asking about how to change their karma

Here are the levels created by Chris and the board when the site was in its infancy

0-Wannabe
25-Jetmate
50-Playmate
100-Trimate
150-Enchanter
200-Persuader
300-Convincer
400-Commander
500-Enforcer
750-Vice Admiral
1000-Admiral
1500-Diplomat
2000-Ambassador
2500-Senator
5000-Checkmate Guru
10000-?
 
It is also worth mentioning, that those ranks were in large part chosen by our members.
 
I can't believe there is no "PREDICTOR" Level

If you guys want to revamp the levels, we can do it. We put that list together a couple of years ago, so we can always tweak it a bit.

We can add more levels or change the name of the levels or leave them alone. If you have a suggestion post it up and we'll hash it out.

What is the goal of the Board in terms of posting? Some guys have used it more like a chat room, sometimes with redundant or pointless comments. The ranking system actually encourages that. Because the posts remain ad infinitum you have to scroll thru them to get to the point of the topic. I don't have a better idea I would just like to hear your thoughts on the matter.

It's entertainment I suppose, that's about it.

I've never thought too much about it really.
 
I like the rankings system, personally.

If we do add another level, I like BakedGoods222 idea of a "Predictor" level, that would fit nicely. I also like Checkmate God for 10 000 posts, I mean, honestly, how do you top that? Ultimately, though, it is naturally Chris' decision as he is the one responsible for this solid site.

I am not sure what is meant by the "point of the rankings system." I think you have to be careful when you mention "pointless comments." I dont think anyone here (that I have noticed) just replies for the sake of replying to move up in rank or something dumb like that (I mean what's the point, there is no rewards system!). I think people for the most part are doing a good job of picking and choosing when to respond.

However, I think I do see a valid point in Mark's response. Sometimes you do have to scroll way back through pages to find the original question or a follow up question and maybe something to think about is not forums, but individual sections in forums, that have gone a year or more without a response be deleted to save space and allow for new entries. Just a thought, but I like the site the way it is, dont get me wrong!

Chris, just so you know, as a sign of my appreciation I will be firing off a long delayed but highly overdue donation to you this week. I can send it to you via Paypal right?

We have a paypal linky thing on our donation page. You just have to click the little donation graphic which is located at the bottom our our site, and then on the donation page there's a paypal button.

Hey Chris,

I just tried now using Paypal to send you a donation and for some dumb reason (i have no clue why) it wont allow me to complete the transaction with my credit card (though I have used it several times in the past on paypal with never any blips).. Can you send me your address and the name I should address a cheque to? I think I would just rather fire you off a cheque in the mail to do this.

Well....we've probably got time to pick a name. Other than myself the next member is Gus who's in the 2000's. I'd estimate we've got about 12 years before it's an issue.
