Where can I get the water scoop kit for my 1988 135 Black Max, I think the merc. part number is 17280A 2. I cant find them, does anyone have a link for them? "Thanks Fred"

Just call your local Merc dealer and have him order it in. They never stock them.

nose cone

That would be spending alot of money just to get the low water pickup and maybe slow the boat down. I will call tomorrow and see if my local Merc dealer still has the scoops. He did keep them in stock. boatman

THANKS FOR THE HELP TO ALL OF YALL

Derrick good to see ya made it over man! Long time no post. Say how is the pressure on your 135 set up. Do you rum the scoop kit? I was thinking about what you had posted about your boat during my first test run. "Runs 60 mph, smooth with no feed back up to 50 or 55 then starts to get loose after that" You hit the nail on the head Derrick! My boat does the exact same thing. Thanks for the help and suggestions you gave me back when I was doing the motor swap.

Thanks Gary I will let you know. I may have a set lined up local. " GO WVU "

Hey Wicked I think my pressure is about 15 psi wot no scoops. Iam at about 3 in below now but I will be moving it up 1 in next time out I will let you know .

Wter pressure with the scoops installed

The scoops did a good job. They took the pressure up 8 pounds even with the motor lifted from 4 1/4" to 3 1/4" below the pad. The price is crazy for what you get but they do work well:banana:

i will bump this old thread! i am looking for some scoops for my lower! 87 black max(200) boatman if you can hook me up that would be great!-ross-

my local merc dealer is a joke so if you guys no where i can pic a set up that would be great!

Ross give him the part number. The local dealership here didn't know what I was talking about until he looked the part number up. Hell the dealer didn't know he carried them.
