We pulled a boat out of the woods, Don't know what it is?

wicked, I moved this over to the open boating forum since it's not a Checkmate.

That thing looks pretty kewl! :)

Oh yea, it can be saved. It has the benefit of it looks like no one has covered it with layers of paint. Nice old classic design.:thumb:

Coop I think it might need a bit of interior work..... :bigthumb:

Have you made an offer yet? :rof:

Who put it there and why would they do such a thing??....
It looks like a tahiti. Very cool boat, looks like a good project:thumb:[/QUOTE]

Yes, I thought the same.....TAHITI except for the right hand steering. Not a jet drive must be the reason. 1970 or so.

i had a 1985 marlin that had the same hull,i always thoght marlin was a take off of the tahiti. Mine was a 18ft with a 6" jack plate ran in the high 60's to low 70s with a 200 merc but handled like it was on rails with the hydrualic steering. But they do take water over the bow and here in the northwest that is no fun.

I found a exact copy of it in yellow and white.86 tahiti that an friend has with a 225 merc.It looks identical.I went by there today and looked at it. I wish I had a working camera.:shakehead:

The Slick Craft is for sale

My buddy wanted to find a boat to run around in this summer that was not hard on gas like his big block jet boat. As much as he likes the new find he is going to part with it. He found a turn key 1970 Chrysler Hydro Vee Charger with a 130 Chrysler that is in super condition. Man this boat is so ugly but at the same time it's kind of cool. Make him an offer on the Slick Craft. Love to see it restored but keep it is only a shell and only the shell is salvageable.

Here's a little funny bit of info.

My old Grew 140 SS had a plaque on the dash that said it was designed by Sleekcraft.

Cool

The 140 SS may be a Bill Nescher boat? He owned Sleek Craft boats
