Weekend Update with Gimme Fuel

Ok, it has been an absolute crazy roller coaster ride the past couple weeks. So I figured I would sum it up in one quick thread.

Yes the motor runs, yes I am loving every minute of it! It isn't impressive other than the sounds it makes as of yet. Been too busy using it to try and get it dialed in. Tune is still quite conservative and so far I have been over-propped so it feels doggy. The majority of that should change with a couple keystrokes of the timing table in the ECU but time to sit down and review the program has been what I have been lacking.

I did make it out for a good run Labor Day weekend on the Saginaw Bay where I met up with good ole Mr. Buss! We did some hard running and hard laughing for sure.

Great to see you out having a good time Ron, --- after all your hard work you and your better half deserve the funtime, I'm sure you'll be dialed in and well propped in no time.

Very impressive moves by Buss, maybe he was a pole dancer in a previous life :D

The next weekend, We trailered down to Lake Cumberland to meet up with Barry & Lori (lcboater), Corey & Beth (corey331), and Rob (Rcenter1) mainly, Bill and Troy ended up stopping by and rafting up for a bit too. Man, that 43 is stunning in person. The even allusive Harold and Jason Kunkel even showed up with their awesome 300. We had an awesome time and drank a lot of moonshine! Even had a blast with some non-checkmate people that were rafted up with us also. The new format of the run was disappointing from a spectator standpoint but those who participated in the run loved it because it was more relaxing for them. We ended out anchored in a cove partying most of the weekend since there really wasn't a scheduled route to camp out on and watch the big boys fly by.

On Saturday, I popped the question to Stephanie and she said yes! I gave the proposal while we were rafted up in Guffey Creek with some old and new friends.

We returned home from Lake Cumberland on Sunday after an absolutely fantastic weekend to our home and loving pets. All was well until Monday evening when I went to feed the dogs. My big 10 year old stud dog "Ice", and very much my best inseparable friend for the past 6 years I have owned him, suddenly became ill after always being a pillar of health. I rushed him into the 24 hour emergency vet only to have my suspicions confirmed that his stomach had suddenly twisted and he got bloat. With the option of surgery in which he only had a 15% chance of even making it onto the table for the $3600 surgery, I had to choose to have his pain humanely ended by putting him down because death was inevitable. This has been the hardest pet I have ever lost. I spent the remainder of early pre-dawn Tuesday morning digging a hole in the back yard and laying my 100 lb friend to rest. It was a rough couple days for sure. At least I still have my 9 year old female and the 1 year old female pup we kept from his last litter. She does act just like him too.

This pic was taken just before we left for LC. Notice the truck hooked to boat trailer in background.

Nice pics Ron and maybe when shes all dialed in it wont be over propped.
Also since Im a 251 guy I just gotta say the Mr. Buss boat looks
immaculate.

Sorry for your loss, as dogs truly are mans best friend. As a dog lover myself I can totally understand. It's great that you have one of his pups.

After I buried my dobi a few years back I've never been able to get close to another pet --- I still miss her a lot

On a lighter note ---- those are some great pics from LC --- nice to see a Kunkel mate out there.

Sorry to hear about your dog! I am not looking forward to the day that one of our dogs go and I have to tell my kids!

Sorry about your dog. Mines 13 so I'm preparing myself for that day.
Congrats on her saying yes, guess you had to get a ring on it to keep working on the boat. Some big boobs, opps I mean boats in those pictures.:thumb:

Congrats Ron to you getting married. I know you will be reporting back soon with getting the boat dialed in to your ideal setup. I am sorry to hear about losing your buddy and had to do the same thing last Christmas morning with my female mastiff Jada. Very hard times and the bond with a pet can be very strong. Hoping the best for you guys !!!

Congrats on her saying yes, guess you had to get a ring on it to keep working on the boat.:thumb:
