What carpet do I need?

83PREDICTOR

Well-known member
I just finished replacing the wood and removing wet foam in my Predictor floor. I went to Lowes and Home Depot last night and in grey color (the color I need) they have 13.5 and 160z with rubber back or non-rubber back.
What should I buy? Also what type of glue should I buy and what is the best way to apply it?:sssh:

there are many different brands, just be sure to get some OUTDOOR carpet adhesive as it will be waterproof when dry.

sup fellow tampa checkmate buddy

I mostly boat on the Manatee river, as it is only about 2 minutes from my house. Also, it's brackish, which I like to think is 100 times better even if it doesn't really matter.

Don't forget that the adhesive for your carpet will need to be applied with a trowel. And the fumes are horrible, don't attempt to do it in your garage.

I mostly boat on the Alifia River for the same reason but find myself out at the island often.

I am 23 y/o and this my first boat that I have had worth working on and I am not sure what a trowel is.

a trowel is a man spatula:

basically it will probably come in a bucket and you will have to spread it on with that.

hey, you'll have the practice down pat, and when my eluder gets finished you can come down and carpet that too!

I used the 16oz grey marine carpet from Lowes, pretty decent stuff for the money. The adhesive I used was their indoor/outdoor carpet adhesive. I just bought a cheap disposable plastic trowel though, they work fine if you are only going to use them once.

I also used the same gray carpet and the indoor/outdoor addhesive from lowes (home depot didnt have anything like it) works great in my starflite and stay put all the way up to 74.3mph :D . Aaron
