What does it take for Checkmate to respond??

I have to say that everytime i have ever called Mike or Kip they have always been courteous and very willing to solve any issue that i might have. They even warranteed things for my boats. The only person i have ever been insulted by or not recieved help from is Dean Reynolds.

We really need the names of people you talked to on the phone. Thats one good thing that I liked about Checkmate was the ability to get parts from the factory. You have been calling sence november thats 6 months something sounds wrong. Maybe you where calling the wrong number and a former employee of Baja was playing a joke on you.

I dont buy it, this thread shoud be deleted, maybe this guy is looking for a hand out, wants a cover that his wife or budget wont let him buy. Prove me wrong, everyone else has nothing but good things to say.

Do not respond unless you have facts to back it up, Thanks.

Scott (Ammaddon) is a good guy, I understand your point but I am pretty sure you are off the mark on this one. I know I am new here but I have been on OSO,speedwake,SOS,& boatfreaks for years. Scott has been posting on SW and I have personally met him and his family. We all have money problems at times but I have never known Scott to gripe over things, this is a first that I have seen or heard.

Peace,
Rob

Like everyone else I have nothing but good things to say, I inquired about a new interior about 6 weeks ago on the Checkmate website under the restoration section at 10 o'clock at night and had a e-mail from Kip at 8 am the next day with Mike's phone #, I called a talked to Mike and went over my options, very friendly people there at CM and it's nice to get that kind of customer service with a 20 year old boat.

Just pm me your phone # and I'll call over there and have Mike call you directly... if that don't work, I'll just head over to the shop and see whats up for ya.

I've always enjoyed dealing with Mike... I had my boat for all of a week before I was calling him for info on some parts I needed. He went out of his way to help me- I'm glad to hear that is still the case (from what everyone else is saying).

I called Mike about new skins in March. Called him back a week later and placed the order. Should be recieving them in the next week or so. Second set of skins I have ordered from CM. I also replaced some dash trim, rub-rails and other things on a previous CM. Never a problem with gettting Mike on the phonw.

Never a problem getting a price and never a problem getting deliver. The skins will be somewhere in the $950 range for two buckets a bench and a sunpad and in my opinion is worth every penny over a marginal shop re-doing it. Of course there are some very good custom shops but you will spend more then for factroy stuff.

My experience has been positive...

...I ordered a mooring cover back in November and got a 2100 cover instead of a 2000. I didn't know I'd gotten the wrong cover until a more informed/experienced owner squared me away. Kip contacted me immediately after I'd posted on the forums, apologized for the error and fixed it. It took a while to get the replacement cover, but Kip stayed in contact with me during the whole thing and kept me informed and reassured. When the cover came this spring, it fit and I even got a FREE HAT and key chains included in the box!!!

The gang at Checkmate is attentive and concerned. If you're having a problem dealing with them...you're in the overwhelming minority. Hope it works out for you.

Once again another satisfied customer. I have an older convincor and have been trying to get a local sign shop to make proper decals for it (they suck and if your close to me PM me and ill tell you where not to go). Anyhow called up Mike and he had some right next to him to help me out..... Thanks Mike and everyone at Checkmate and sorry to the fella having problems, there must be something fishy going on there since we all have had such good experiences.....

I ordered a complete new interior for my '90 vision last spring. When you call, ask for Mike - he is a living enclyopedia on Checkmate stuff. Have your hull ID & they can match the original. It wasn't the fastest turnaround but the results were worth the wait. P.S.--last year ,new interior "skins" were $1000 (closed bow, all seats and pads)-I bought new everything, ready to install(skins, new foam, and plastic bases--no more soft wood---) cost $2000 but worth not having to reupholster old bases, foam, etc.(have you priced marine grade foam lately)----My opinion, worth every penny.
