What type of check mate is this??

I recently bought this and was wondering what model it is? It has a check mate vin but the previous owner didn't have a clue what model it was. It won't let me post photos so could I email them to someone who could post them for me?
Thanks for the help
Brett

:welcome:Welcome to the forum. I'm sure someone will come along shortly and give you a step by step as it's somewhat of a process. Jim

mishawakajim is going to post the photo I have of it for me. I will get more this week. Not sure on length I think it's 8ft I could be wrong and not sure on year I will get both of those when I get more photos of it.
Thanks for the help

I'm no expert, but that really looks like an early 70's style of boat. The Hull ID should be something like CHKXXXXX. Is that the number you're looking at? On my 1975 Checkmate it's on the port or left side of the transom and on my 1986 Checkmate it's on the starboard or right side upper corner of the transom. Jim

Brings back memories

I remember one of these on Lake Shafer when I was a teenager even red like yours. Parents bought one for some "rich kid". Boy was I jealous! And that was around 1970.

Funny you say that! My dad had one around that time in the Monticello area. He stayed on freeman with it for the most part tho as his parents owned twin lakes marina at the time. He put a slightly massaged mark 75 merc on it for half a summer. They had to hold the back of the boat up to get it off the trailer without it sinking! Not sure what color it was tho. Id have to ask.

I believe CM made a few of the 11' Playmates in the early 80s before the 13' GT.
Good luck-
