Whats a v-mate III?

Gonabyte

New member
I read a lot about this v-mate II. This boat I got is a V-Mate III.
I can't find anything about the 3. It looks pretty simular to the 2.
It has no windshield (sounds like a custom option) it's max hp is 175.
I was told the engine is bored out to somthing higher. I think maybe they told it was a 165 turned into a 185hp mercury. I don't know much about these.
I got it as payment.
I broke a part in the shifter/box. That's what started my model search.
It came with 3 other props also. From what I found on those they used to be made by company for like $600 each.
Custom paint job says fire fox 76' on it.
So what do I got?

A picture is worth a thousand words. If you post up a pic or two, you will likely get an answer a little faster.

Congrats on the acquisition of a fine vessel - AKA a Checkmate :bigthumb:

Checkmate didn't make a V-Mate III to the best of my knowledge. Probably a typo on the paperwork. Length of boat would help...

As far as I can remember, they made a V-Mate I, V-Mate II both closed decks, then the the open bows, were TriMate I, II, III, they they created a modified V with the same top deck as the TriMate III, and it was called a TriMate III V.
