Which Convincor model?

Jersey Mike

New member
Hello all,
My brother just picked up a 1996 26ft Convincor w/ carbed 502. Unfortunately the previous owner did not know which model it is. Is there any way to tell whether its a 251, 253, etc? I know we can tell the year it is by the last 2 numbers in the hull id, but what about the model?

I have a couple pictures, but not sure how to upload from the computer.

Thanks,
Mike

Just going by the year given without pictures. Make sure to get a real measurement before ordering. The boat is 25'3" with out swim flatforms.

Your pics have to be hosted on a site like photobucket. Then you can copy them from there and paste into your post here.

Its a little less tall "freeboard". Has a smooth rounded clean look and those side vents are the 242 signature. I like it.

Ok, that makes sense. Its funny, because he and my father mentioned it seemed a little small for a 26ft when they first took a look at it a couple days ago. I will let him know.

Thanks so much for all of the information!

Its had some work done on it. (engine hatch and the skeg looks ground down a bit) So if you have any questions about the rest of it just ask and pictures work real well here.

Good luck and have fun

Keith is correct on the model. Nice looking boat. Any more pics and details?

He is out on the water today and should send me some more pics tonight. He's got a nice low hour 502. Just sent him one of my 25p 4 blade props I had in the garage from my Hallett (too small of a pitch for my current boat). I think he said he was running 5k rpm with 6 "good sized" adults lol on board. Figured when he lightens the load he will need a bigger pitch!

This week I know his plans are to swap out the exhaust tips and get rid of those tips with the baffles in them! :D
