Wicked's first attempt at pictures

Thats an awesome set up wick!
Nice clean work ya do too. after ya get her up and running don't forget you have some tweaking options with jetting up the carbs a bit. the 135 is a great motor. You can turn em up over 6000 rpm's easily if you wanted to.
just my 2 pennies

Thanks Pete! I hope the bay star steering system wasn't a bad idea. I see mostly the sea star system used by the bulk of the board members. Any feeling yall wish to share about the bay star steering. Do yall think it will do the job or did do you think I messed up big time

the baystar will work fine but there was a bad string of them for about a year. they would start leaking @ the helm. They haven't had any problems since and that run was about 2 years ago. Baystar is teleflex seastar but built in canada. I'm not sure where teleflex is manufactured but probabaly the same plant.
I'm not out to scare ya just to inform.
The boat looks rockin! Hey what are you doing with that big ole chopper prop?
pete

Thanks for the info Pete. The big ol chopper prop belongs to a buddy of mine. We just stuck it on there because it looked cool!!

Yeah, I suppose 175checkmate/checkmate175 are a little confusing. But I have a 1980 Checkmate Eluder, my color scheme is just like yours except I have Red in place of blue. Your boat looks great! Best of luck with the rest of your upgrades! I noticed you have that hydrofoil on the outboard, do you like it? Hope you are not planning to keep that when you have finished everything.

Hi175, good to have you on board. The whale tail is super fo getting up on plane and I do like them for that reason. When I installed the Whale Tailwas not thinking about higher speeds. I'm new at this but I feel like whale tails and high speeds just don't mix. It is going to stay with the 90 when it is sold and I will be removing the one that is on my 135 black max.

Looking real good. Can't wait for the test results.
Thanks Gus! Do you expect big changes with all the work you have done to the Trimate. It is looks really cool by the way!! I know that a lot of the work is for cosmetics and for restoration but the hull mods and the blue printing should really help it's perfornance. Heck that custom windshield should be good for 1 or 2 mph LOL LOL !! The lower windshield looks real nice. Did you ever see the pics of the Trimate with the looper that had a windshield cut down to about 5" with no frame? That one was also cool. Trimate was the first Checkmate I looked at when I started shopping for my first boat . In 2003 a local credit union had one that was a repo. It was really rough inside and out and had an old 115 rude on it that had some problems. They said they needed $1.600 fot it. Thinking that was high I passed but I remember how much liked the style and lines of that boat.

Looks good Wicked good to see some east coast checkmates. Makes me want go home and work on my brothers V-Mate.
Welcome Gmiller and thanks for the kind words. I think I'm one of only two members in VA.

I am hoping the modifications that where done to the bottom help. Blueprinted, sharpened all the chimes, and added the pad. I am hoping for around 80mph. May have to re-prop to do it.
