Wood replacment

This year or next i need to replace some wood in my boat. I need to know what would be the best, standard plywood or is there better.

The passenger and driver consoles supports are getting very soft from years of being around water. The staples holding the vinyl coverings are even starting to pull out due to the softening of the wood. Probably a next year project, i am going to replace them.

But is there a better type of plywood to use? or just the cheapest i can get best? Is there a treatment i can get to help them survive?

Where they bolt to to the floor bracket is where they are the worst of course, so bad so this year the screws came out and wont hold in anymore.

Just lookin for hints, be my first repair project, seems small compared to the work people here do, but unless its electronics, for me its a serious undertaking.

I used reagular plywood from home depot. the plywood has to be dry. You can carefully remove the stapels and the vinyl. Cut the wood to match the old part. The coat the wood on all sides with fibergalss resen. This will seal the wood keeping out the water. The floor with take a bit longer but is still not a major project.
If you are lookig to use your boat this summer and want a temp fix for the seat base here is what I did on my last boat.
Since you are going to repair the floor.
I lifted the carpet, cut a piece of 1/2 plywood make sure the new part is larger than the soft spot in the floor. Drilled holes to match the seat mounting plate. Installed cap bolts and fiberglassed them in from the back side.
Clean and sand the area of the floor with 80 grit then fiberglass the new board down with biaxle or matt cloth. Make sure that the new board does not get to close to the outter edge of the floor. You will still want to be able to repair the spot later.
Then seal the top of the wood with resin and run a strip of cloth around the edge.
Put the carpet back down, bolt on the seat and enjoy. Shoot me an e-mail with some pictures and I can give more detail if needed.
