WTB Skid Planer for Starflite

I'm curious to see how one would work on that hull. I have access to a metal shop here at work and could make one but just don't know where to even start as far as dimensions. Have you checked Scream and Fly?

Are you talking about mounting it on the bottom of the boat?

I have one on my jackplate and it works good, better hole shot for sure.

I'll be looking into it this spring. I'll look into building one or just box the lower end of my 10'' backet like I did the top. Some where down there is where I plan to mount my new $170 attwood underwater blue light. I plan on having done, Maybe by the first weekend in June :sssh: So many plans so little time!

Thanks for the info, I ahve looked on Screama nd Fly, about the best I can find is an Allison at this point, and it is kind of a cobbled together "universal" mounting system. This is so specialized, I may need to fab on, similar to the "box in" the top of the set back plate you were talking about...

What kind of jackplate do you have? some of them make one for it. here's mine, bolted up in seconds, cost around $80.00 I think but I traded my dealer straight across for my old merc tach :D

What kind of jackplate have you got? I don't know if John has easy access to his boat right now but I'd like a pic of what the planer looks like and how it mounts.

Oops. Cross post.

Stupid question. Does the planer move up and down with the motor side of the plate or is it attached to the stationary side that's bolted to the boat?

Paul....PM me? This can't be rocket science, I can measure up and send pics for you. If you have a brake and can bend a few things and can weld something up so it doesn't flex, I'd be happy to work with you on it....not looking for 16 ga stuff, but certainly dont need 3/8 plate anything either....
