Year of the Weedeater!

Anyone who visits the Garage, see's this sitting in a corner somewhere. It is a mold for a weed eater powered RC boat. It's about 56 inches long. I've been working on it every now and then for several years. But I think Kaiasmate finally talked me into finishing it and building some. I have a few more holes to fill, but maybe in a couple of weeks, I can get one done.

If gas keeps going up, Thats all the boating I'll be able to afford!!! I'll keep them in mind!:thumb:

Hey, I have an old Weedeater that may be a good donor motor. Keep us posted. I have an electric R/C boat, it's a fairly cheap hobby grade boat that I slapped a huge motor in. Sometimes when you stomp it and turn wrong it jumps out of the water and lands on it's lid. Still fun though.

I also have an old R/C truck with an R/C type gas engine (nitromethane). It was a monster for it's day, but they're slapping bigger engines in them now. It'll do about 40-50 mph, but I barfed the clutch by turning it up too much and haven't run it in 5 or 6 years.

I recognize that mold. I raced one in elyria and gave it to my brother. It a terminator, copied off of the older 42 baja with the high rise decks. Excellent rough water hull

lol, yep, found it in the trash across the street from my place. I've got all the air bubbles filled now, I should have some new pics later today. I don't have a deck for it, I'm going to have to design a new one.

Ill get a pic of a finished one in a couple days. it is a good looking boat. I dont think that the pad did any good though.

Its not a very big pad. But when I get the mold repaired. I am going to pull one and cut the molded in swim platform off and make a flat transom version. Maybe I can either fill that pad in or make a bigger one. I hear the with the rear end like that they are a PTA to rig.

I built a couple weedeater boats a few years ago, they'r a blast to run and a good pass time for the winter. these are all wood, but I want to make a glass version to lighten it up.

Here's a shot of the bottom, I copied it from a model of a Miami Vice Plastice model. The hull handles incredable in big water.
