    BIG CHECKMATES ?????

:cheers I may not get to go as often, but I still know there will be a next time and when that happens, I'll just love to listen to it and the way it rides.

    Home brewed cleaning secrets???

I/O Folks with a swim platform, Scrubbing Bubbles for the transom. With a white boat and through transom exhaust, I used to spend by far the majority of my time cleaning the transom under the swim platform and regularly hit my head in the process :irked:. Simply spray on scrubbing bubbles and...

    GPS Antenna Location

I'm ready to install a new GPS. Of course there is the little 'dome' antenna module that needs to be installed in 'clear satellite view'. Will anyone share where they have located their and how it has worked for you? I was thinking on the dash itself, but was concerned about the windshield...

Mercruiser vs. Mercury Marine Bravo 1 Prop

I learned yesterday from a reliable source that there are considerable differences between a Bravo 1 Prop with a Mercruiser Name stamped on it vs a Bravo 1 with Mercury Marine stamped on it. One would think Bravo 1= Bravo 1 Mercury or Mercruiser - but he was quite confident that the blade...

can I walk on the front bow or not???

Had an 85 Enchanter and I have been on the center of the bow numerous times as well as guests on the boat. You can feel the flex from the weight, but never any sign of cracks. There were very small cracks along the 'seam' where the bow and deck meet, but I attribute that to flexing of the boat...

    I/O in saltwater?

For my last post, I assumed the engine would have been flushed with fresh water vs. leaving salt water in before draining it. If the last run was in salt water, run fresh water through it and then drain the block.

    I/O in saltwater?

For the winter, I typically drain the water out of the block and manifolds via the plugs (one on each side of the block, one on each manifold and some have a plug as part of the fule cooling system). I also disconnect any internal hoses where water may accumulate so it doesn't freeze there...

    Re-Introduction

I realize you're in the market for used, but if you want to drool on some new ones, travel to The Carolina Power & Sailboat Show in Raleigh: http://www.ncboatshows.com/CurrentShows/cps/CPSshow.html They have a couple Pulsares on display. On the used market, have to agree with BigRed. I had...

Checkmates at Boat Show in Raleigh

I was at The Boat Show in in Raleigh yesterday and for the first time since I have been going, I saw some Checkmates (Pulsare 2400 w/Evinrude HO and Pulsare 2100 BR with a Merc). Great looking boats of course, but I'm more excited about seeing a presence in the area. :)

    Something happen to Trick Marine?

I know several people have voiced concerns (perhaps that's putting it nicely) regarding Trick Marine. I just attempted to access their website and was re-directed to Monster Marine. It may be the case that Monster has been around for some time, but I have never heard of them. After what has...

Congratulations on the place. This has been (and still is) a life-long wish of mine. Maybe someday, but in the meantime I'll continue to trailer but hope you enjoy yours :)

    Need for external steering?

I would be interested in anyone's feedback regarding using external steering vs the "standard" internal Mercruiser Steering. I'm running a 24' Stiletto with a 454 MAG. Speedo claims low 80's, I expect it's more like low 70's. Outboards are more likely to chine walk simply because there is so...

    GPS Speedometer Recommendation

Does anyone have a recommendation for a GPS Speedometer? Looking to replace the standard speedo and have seen offerings from Livorsi Marine, Autometer and others. At a glance, most look about the same, interested in any feedback (positive or negative) folks may have with their GPS Models.
