    checkmates at a boat show

Yesterday I went to the Pennsylvania Auto & Boat Show in Harrisburg. It's mostly cars but had a nice display of boats. I was surprised and quite pleased to find I now have a local Checkmate dealer. Ducky's Boat Sales in Middletown, PA. They only had 2 Checkmates on display but that was 2 more...

    1989 Checkmate Cobra Sprint

That's less than 2 hours away from me. Hmmm, I wonder if the Mrs. would notice a 2nd boat?

Man! I love the new 300XS motors! 106.4 mph.

I don't think my balls are big enough to handle 106.4 mph. 65 - 70 is enough for me.

    Calling All Video-Vamps!

I agree with using Movie Maker. It's pretty easy to make a good video with it. The rc boats in your video are some fast little things. I had no idea they had that kind of performance.

    Insurnace

When I bought my 85 Eluder a couple years ago I had a hard time finding insurance. My auto insurance company and a few others wouldn't insure a Checkmate at all because it's a high performance boat. I went with Progressive and couldn't be happier. I have $6,000 coverage on boat and trailer...

Bimini on Predictor (what was I thinking)

I think they are "Butt Ugly" and I'm also about to get one to keep from getting our brains fried on hot days. Sometimes comfort has to come before looks.

    First time out this year

Sunday was my first time out for the year and it didn't go too well. I wasn't more than 100 yards from shore and saw the flashing blue light of the "Water Cops" coming toward me. They asked to see my registration and I knew right away what was wrong. My new registration stickers were safe and...

    Do you grease your balls?

I have a stainless ball on now but havn't had it long enough to tell if it's any better or not. It is staying better looking and isn't all rusty.

Color is always a personal preference. I'm not sure I would have went with that color combo but the workmanship looks real good.

Checkmate Ski Boat w/ 140hp Mercury

Current bid is only $610. At that price you could afford new seats. They sure do look strange don't they.

    Trailer for the Enchanter

When I bought my 1985 19' Eluder it came with a roller type trailer and I don't like it. Half the time you think it's on nice and straight and when you pull up the ramp it's sitting crooked to one side. If you mostly go by yourself I'd stay away from rollers. I can't help you with the single or...

    Anyone with an 85 Diplomat?

I I snapped a pic for you today. There is a cleat glassed to the floor and one running up the transom. The plywood partition is screwed to the cleats. You should be able to make something similar. Steve
