    '78 Predictor FS in Michigan

I see no indication of the floor or core having been replaced. The only rot I can find is the battery box in the rear, and that is from dragging the battery in-out (bare wood). I'll put some pix on my thumb drive and put them online from work tomorrow.

    '78 Predictor FS in Michigan

OK, guys. I busted the hell out of my clavicle on a YZ250 at Silver Lake dunes a few weeks ago - my Predictor is still outside with a cover and tarp on it. I haven't been able to get it in the barn yet. Before I do, the first $3K takes it. I really need the money. I realize it's too late in...

    Predictor For Sale

Hrm. We're both on the same page with price..hopefully both will be sold. I'm not getting any responses here, so might have to go to Auto&RV Swapper or even *shudder* E-bay. I would also like something in the 20' range, with a "stabbin' cabin" and thru-hull exhuast... BLUB BLUB BLUB BLUB Pete

    '78 Predictor FS in Michigan

I've had this boat for 2 seasons and couldn't be happier with it. Got laid off in June and enrolled at university for my teaching certification, so I need some tuition money. The GOOD: Boat and engine are incredibly sound. It has the original Mercury 1150 inline-6. I just did the water pump...

    Merc 1150 water pump?

Followed the manual, piece of cake. The impeller vanes were hardened in a permanent curl. Put it all back together and now have a steady stream out of the telltale hole at idle. Yay, me.

    Merc 1150 water pump?

My Predictor runs GREAT when it's cold. It idles in gear, holeshots are snappy, etc. After longer trips, it won't idle at all and stalls. Then it's a total bitch to start. So much that yesterday I got stuck on North Higgins nad had to have a tow back to South Shore. I got it back home and...

    89 predictor

I have a '79 predictor and I want to have a similar cover made for mine, although I think I'd want the cover to go over the windshield to protect it while towing. It's not like you can use the cover when it rains..... Pete

    Why Worry About Rot?

According to my pops, my Predictor exhibits quite a bit of gunwale flex when jumping wakes. Is this normal? I have to think it's primarily because the gunwales are unsupported for the most part [the overhangy part]. Pops doesn't like the boat because the first time I took him out it was...

    predictor prop selection

Well, it's not so much FAT as just being LARGE. I think people were way smaller on the whole back in the 60/70's. I'm 6'2" and weigh in at 230 in good shape. I still ride motocross and am pretty fit, but just LARGE. I know it's even an odd fit in my '68 GTO - I know if I ever got in an...

    predictor prop selection

I currently have a 13x19p stainless and I GPS the boat at 46MPH/6200 RPM. Want more top end but don't want to lose the acceleration needed to pull my fat ass up on a slalom ski. Looking at Michigan Wheel's website - I need a mfg's part number to even get started. Anyone know it? Also want a...

    predictor cables and gearshift

Just to have this in the archives for people to search: The cable length for a '79 Predictor with the stock 1150 and control box is 10'6". P.

    predictor cables and gearshift

Went to Higgins Friday night, dumped the boat in the water and when shifting to leave the lagoon, CLUNK. No gear. Lever mechanism jammed up, so I FORCED it. Heard metallic "clunk" in the remote control housing. Pulled the boat out. Visited a few marinas, finally ended up at a junkyard and...
