    Checkmate for sale (Sold)

This boat has been sold. The lucky buyer lives next to a very large, calm bay where the water is perfect for this boat. I sure hate to see it go because this boat has been a big source of pride for me and it has given me many hours of troublefree pleasure and excitement. I'll sure miss it...

    Checkmate for sale (Sold)

Thanks Jim. Who knows what'll happen at the auction. Maybe it won't sell and that will possibly be a sign to keep it for relaxation, but, for now, my wife (who manages our finances) say's to sell it. I don't think I'll find another boat like this down the road when my health improves and I...

    Checkmate for sale (Sold)

I'm also just a short ferry trip across Lake Erie from Sandusky, Ohio, but, the ferry doesn't start running until April. With a decent deposit I'd hold the boat until the ferry starts running or you can come over by the tunnel or bridge at Detroit, Michigan. Vic

    Checkmate for sale (Sold)

Thanks Chris. It's a 1978 Inmate 1 with a 3.7L 180 HP inboard. Best speed I ever saw on my Garmin GPS was 64 MPH, but, the breeze was on my back and the water was perfectly calm and I was alone in the boat. Vic

    Linear Polyurathane

Thanks Mark, lots of good info in that. I may even roll my Inmate rather than spraying it with polyurethane. A lot safer and easier too. Vic

    dual motor setup

I would think that it wouldn't be worth the effort because of the hydrodynamic resistance alone, then add the extra weight and wind resistance of the second motor and you wouldn't gain very much. How about having some fun with nitrous oxide to gain more power? Vic

Those four girls need a blanket!!!!!!!!!

As I opened this site and saw the four girls in the boat I thought that it might be nice if we threw them a blanket or jacket or anything to keep them warm. It's darn cold today and I miss having my Checkmate in the water. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. Vic
