13' Allison Project

Cool video!!

Just got it home this evening, should be a good project. Better condition than I thought

The hull to deck seems to be a shoebox design, any suggestions on how to seperate, I see no rivits holding it on?
Is glassed on both the inside and outside? some pics of it?

Thanks guys.. got it at work (street rod shop).... going to work on it some tomorrow.. will try and get some pics....

up date on the ally project.... decided not to mess with taking the deck off.. Someone had already cut the splash well out and destroyed the transom, so i just cut a little bit more to get the transom out.. Going to do something different back there anyways.. Got all the bad wood and balsa out. From about midway back were strips of ply instead of balsa, for extra strength i assume. I think this is what you would call a potato chip boat, lots of unsaturated glass, and it now has several extra holes in the bottom :brickwall:
Got to get it sanded, then its patching holes, balsa and wood.

Got the transom and stringers cut.... Glassing the stringers will take a little time. For what little weight i cut out i probably wasted my time, but o well. Need to order some glass, resin, and balsa.. Was going to order from us composites. Any suggestions on best place to order??

you should get it on a cradle to support it better before you start glassing it up.
