" For Sale" 1971 MX-18 w/ original 135hp Mercury

For Sale! 1971 MX-18 w/ original 135hp Mercury . All in Excellent condition! Boat looks and runs great! Low hours since professional carb re-build. Always stored inside and everything is solid. Newer highway and mooring covers as well as a removable bimini top. I bought the boat from the original owner a few years ago and the interior was re-done shortly before that. The seating is for four, back-to-back. There is one small upholstery split that I stupidly did myself. I sewed it up and put tape over it, (see pictures), but it should be an easy fix for a professional. Everything works except for the compass, which is the fluid type that has gone dry. Runs mid 40’s mph (gps) with original aluminum 17P prop. There are several other props with the boat but I haven’t experimented much with the other props. Trailer is in very good condition with bearing buddies. Tires are good and there is a spare. I trailered the boat over a 1,000 miles three summers ago with no problems. Family is grown and I haven’t used the boat much in the last three years. Would consider a trade for a fishing boat in similar condition. A great opportunity for a classic Checkmate in outstanding condition! Asking $3,500 but will entertain offers.
Please e-mail questions to Doug@Champaignfaith.org.

Does anyone know what models they used those style seats?I've seen them in others in the 70s model boats.Curious why they don't have the famous buckets??

Thought I just passed it headin north on I69.
Ohio plates pullin it ahead of a Motorhome.
