Every free day I had I spent working on that boat . But shes out at the other house now in the garage for the winter . Came back home and cleaned up my garage . This summer went just way to fast for me lol .....

Well I got the deck loose and all the rivets out . But the concrete stuff up under the splash well still has a reall good hold on the transom and you really cant get in there to cut away at it . So im probably going to have to cut the back of the splash well to remove the top . Waiting on my dad to get here and pick his brain and see what ideas he has

Will30;
wondering was your deck glassed at the joint?
guessing by the design has the shoe box joint.

Picked up a Tahiti and have been following your build here...my transom and floor will need to be replaced trying to figure out best method to do it?
Cut out the splash well or remove the deck?

No Checkmate slopped bondo on the top of the transom and squished it down . But was able to figure out how to get the 2 halves apart . My dad stood on the trailer and lifted the front top half up and I was able to place a pry bar under the splash well and I applied a little pressure and is came apart ... Just take your time and dont rush ......

I haven't been on much as of late but you and your dad made some great progress to that little boat. I really can't wait to see what you guys do for the finale.

I tried my best Mike to get the inside of it all back together . Now once I can get it back in the spring I can get it painted have the interior done and have the motor rebuilt and than get the motor painted and new decals on it and rig it up and have some fun .....

No I still havent found anything . Just can seem to come acrossed anything that matches the size of the original

This is what I bought for my boat...

I want to say the base was really close base size. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that it has little bulges in the base where I put a screw to attach it to the boat. That could be due to my error of installing or just the product itself. I will try to remember to take some close-up pictures the next time I see my boat.

Thanks Mike . Thats the one I thought of installing on mine . And thats probably what im going to use . When you do get some pictures defintely send them . Would like to see how it looks on the boat

My rub rail base is a black plastic. Because it is a plastic, it did pucker just a little bit when I tightened the screws. (I used SS machine screws to connect the cap and hull instead of rivits) After the sun has a chance to warm it up it will be a little more visible. I don't see any way to get around that. The original aluminium base was just a little more rigid so it didn't show the slight irregularity.

Well it is now finally Febuary and I plan on having the boat back here at home sometime in March . Im about to start buying the paint and what not for the boat . I already bought my old man a new paint gun so he can paint it lol . (Thinking ahead here) :D. She now just needs to be painted and Rigged pretty much . So she will be back on the water again this summer sometime .... Seeing all these resto Threads popping back up are really getting me back in the mood to finish here up
