1988 Senator with 454 magnum in Holland

Thanx! 
Past week we put the new teek on the swimplatform and on the boat.
I also started polishing the rest of the boat. I finished the right hand side and it looks stunning!!!
I made a picture of it but because the boat is inside you can't really see how nice it is.
Today I started on the left side, but there are a lot of minor scratches on the side so I wetsanded the whole leftside with a 1500 paper. Now I'm going to try to finish this side tomorrow.
I'll make some good pics soon, but since we're closed for the holidays next week it's going to be in the new year.
For now I want to say: Merry Christmas and a happy new year to everyone!!

Ok people here's an update of our work on the Senator..
Outside FINISHED!! It really looks new!! After a lot of thinking we decided to repaint the left side of the boat as well. I just couldn't get al the scratches out. Everybody who has seen the boat before and after is really stunned about how it looks now so that's nice. A friend of mine who works for a company that make decals made a real nice checkered flag decal along the sides just like on the new mates.
New carpet has put in (We also put carpet in the back on the left and right side of the engine) and we installed a new radio and speakers. I fixed all the electrics and light so everything works like verybody who has seen the boat before and after is stunned by the result. it should. We fired up the engine to fine-tune the ignition and fuel system. Everything runs well now.
Now all my baby needs is the interior. My upholstery guy promised me it would be ready by the end of the month. If that's ready and if there is going to be a dry day next month I will take it out for the very first time.
I Promiss you guys I will get te boat out of the shop next week and make a lot of nice pictures! You will be stunned!

Ok guys I went back to the shop today and made some pics.. 
Because it was raining I couldn't take it outside so I'm sorry for the poor light.

what did you do with the top of the engine hatch? geen bekleding meer?
great looks, good work!! looks better than mine.. the decals are sharp looking. which part did you do painting?

The top of the engine hatch is, like the rest of the interior, still at the upholstery guy. I hope to get it back befor the end of next week
And we repainted the lower (white) half of the stern and right hand side.

Yes I did. This boat runs on LPG (propane) and there is a huge tank in the front. that's why the 'carpeted box' is in the front.

Hey Dennis, LPG...that's cool. So how much weight does this put towards the front of the boat? Normally Senators had 31 gallon (about 200 pounds full) aluminum fuel tank just behind the ski locker compartment... behind the driver and passenger seats. Now this moves the center of gravity forward quite a bit.
I bet this helps your boat get on plane faster.

Hi Andrew,
The LPG system was put in by us for the previous owner a couple of years ago. We convert a lot of boats to LPG since it costs about 1/3 of the price for regular fuel.
I never drove a checkmate without LPG so I can't really say anything about it. There's a 120 liter tank in the front so that must be about 120 or 130 kg I think.

I filled my dad's rinker 312 today (the rinker had to go for some repairs) and paid 7.75 dollars a gallon on the waterside fuel station.
my senator did run on normal fuel, and the highest score i had seen was 140 euro (179.48 dollar) for a full load in the gastank. after a day of waterskiing it was gone again.
so if i buy a v8 again, it will be on LPG. it keeps you smiling on sunny day's. 70% of the fuel price is goverment taxes.

Silly question, is it possible to just pull up to a fueling station and get LPG?? That isnt an option in these parts.

for the rinker it wasn't. it runs on gas.
but the lpg system can have an another advantage. you can take the lpg tank to the filling station. and leave the boat in the dock. dennis has an non remove lpgtank.
what is the price of lpg in the states? a gallon? if the gas prices reach the limit, that is the answer for big engine boaters in the us i think.
i think you have an power loss with a lpg engine. (maybe can dennis answer that question better.)
