" For Sale" 2004 Checkmate Pulsare 2100LD

....ouch

Internet sales and the distance between seller/buyer has really complicated the negotiation process. I do a bit of buying and selling thru Craigslist etc and it can be a little frustrating at times. As the seller you deal with many people who are shopping out of their price range hoping to find that desperate seller stupid enough to accept a site unseen offer over the phone. IMHO it is not in either parties best interest to make or accept site unseen offers. It's just not good business. I have in the past and the buyer usually wants to pick every little thing apart in person and beat the price down even further from the "site unseen" agreed upon price.:shakehead:
I don't take any potential buyers seriously until I shake their hand. Then and only then the negotiation begins. Maybe I'm old school. I'm not opposed to asking a seller if they are flexible on the price especially if it's a little more than I care to spend. Some are FIRM and thats it but most of us are somewhat flexible. I will at least have enough respect to make offers and negotiate in person. Besides that the seller can't smell my cash over the phone and that changes everything.

Good luck Kct :thumb:

I can't stand dealing with most people if I have stuff to sell, get a email from someone offering half your asking price and then in big letters that they will pay CASH, is that supposed to be an incentive, lol, you get people that will buy anything if they can steal it, best one was my 07 Montana mini van, asking $8000 and a guy offered me $1500 CASH, yeah right, I have taken stuff off kijiji and gave it to someone rather that dealing with the people out there looking to make a buck.

I can't believe how many offers I get on stuff sight unseen, come look at it if your a serious buyer and make a reasonable offer

Ok guys. Its funny i bought a 2006 2100br with a 300xs over the phone. I live in ny and the seller lived in utah. We agreed on a price and i drove out to get it. Pretty simple process since we were both business men and could negotiate without any issues. Then i bought a 2007 2100br in florida wired the money and had it shipped to me in ny. Another simple transaction. You can cut me up all you want but that boats still for sale 3 years later because he isnt serious about selling it even though he keeps posting things like bring me offers and he just bought a bwm car and would like to sell the boat and is looking at a truck he wants so its a good time to buy the boat. That and he keeps changing the setup and prices. Being in the retail wholesale business maybe you should list the boat and engine that you actually want to sell with a price that is all you will take and put firm in your ad. Leave it at that and quit posting a million things about what you are buying or want to buy to try and boast the sale. No one that is serious about selling something still has it three years later for sale...

i think its sold and the buyer is at the end of the rainbow with a pot of gold and three leprechauns dancing around it. :surf:

it has gone too far and sorry if i contributed to that but you know what they say........ bad publicity is still publicity. keepin your ad at the top

I will add fuel to the fire myself. Last year I PMed kct11 about selling the 250 XS, I live close enough were I could be there in a day & had cash. Never got a response.

Madtown, because it was about buying the motor only.

Unless you believe the add is spam it's common courtesy to atleast send a response back indicating that your not interested in what they are offering. That will keep stuff like this from poping up later.

TTT for all the dreamers.

To many tire kickers with no money is the main reason I pulled my boat off the market.
Buy the time a serious buyer showed I was already burnt up from to much e-mail BS.

Good luck with your sale kct11.:thumb:

How about we start the bidding, I'll go $3000. Ball is in someone else's court now!

speaking of bidding maybe eBay would be a good option. I bought my diplomat off eBay and boats do seem to sell there. it goes against my sight unseen rule but I spoke to the owner and convinced him to end the auction and accept a condition contingent cash offer. it was 5 hours away. that was long before i got burned on internet deals. either way you slice it this one is still a great lookin Checkmate and I can't believe no one has even laid eyes on it.
