97 Convincor 220

66fish

New member
After 2014, my first "boatless" year since 1975 I just purchased an exceptional Checkmate Convincor 220 from one of my good friends. 320 hours on the boat which was always inside stored when not being used on Lake Cumberland or Green River Lake in Ky. I consulted with Kip Combs from Checkmate prior to purchase and was delighted with his prompt response and honest input. No pics yet. Big block/Bravo combo. Will be zooming around western basin of Lake Erie soon.

Thanks "Top"

Forgot to mention that I have been checking out this site since my buddy first mentioned potential boat sale. Seems like some great people and info here.

Wow folks. Thanks for the warm welcome. "Fever" you are on top of things. I had a dark blue 66 Barracuda hence the name. Still have a small fleet of A body Mopes but wanted back on the water when bad back allows.

Corey, This boat lived at Beaver Creek Marina until 2003 when my friend moved his houseboat to Green River Lake. White/red with name "Cheers" on the side.

Thanks again people.

:thumb: Cool! I have one A-body myself, a '71 Demon 340, but i've always liked the early 1st/2nd gen Barracudas! Checkmates and Mopars, can't go wrong with either of them!!

A man with good taste. Great boat and choice of cars. I have a 01 220 and a fleet of A body mopars as well. 70 dart 340 4 speed swinger. 75 dart all original 32000 miles 318. And a 71 duster 416 stroker

Thanks Matt,

Not to boast but boat is truly nice. Purchased from one of my best friends and he pampered it. Always inside stored except when being used on flat freshwater lakes in Kentucky, Lake Cumberland and Green River Lake to be exact.Mercruiser big block with carb. I think it is 300 hp. All stock with 22 stainless prop. Not exactly what I was looking for but the known history, low hours and condition sold me. I am looking for input on best way to quiet down the through hull exhaust. Also looking for best location to mount a compass and marine radio/antenna. Also looking for factory owners manual. Any info regarding trim tab necessity on these hulls also appreciated.

Thanks Again:bigthumb:
