Adding setback to my Pulsare.

prop

since you have run the tempest as well as the trophy, how close are the two props in rpms at wot. is the 26 trophy real close to the 25 tempest? thanks.

Randy, with my 21' Pulsare I have the opportunity to run my Bob's Jackplate 5.5" with my Stainless Marine 8" setback for 13.5" of setback. I also have Bob's 2" spacers which would bring me to 15.5" of setback. Would you run with or without the spacers????

That would be 3 separate plate. I'd never run that many. I'd go to a 10" bracket in front of the hydraulic plate. I have brand new 10" CMC jackplates for $225 if anyone needs one. These are new!

Hey eluder, as I was not able to settle the boat at speeds over 65 with the Tempest Plus 25, I never got to see what max rpm that prop was running. I can tell you that this past sunday, I was turning the Trophy Plus 26 at 6900rpm and 74.3 mph GPS with a full tank, two adults, cooler and gear.

I assume those are manual?

Got any 5"????

...I have a Tempest Plus 25 and it's the most ill handling prop I've ever tried on my Pulsare. The Blade area on the Tempest is so large that it trys to force any light boat on it's side thereby inducing chine walk. Once my Tempest Plus 25 hit about 65 MPH, I can no longer control the boat. My Trophy Plus really performs well right into the low/mid 70's...quote]

Hey Jup,

If you hate the Tempest that much you should send it to CT and let me twist that puppy!:poke:

Ah but could you handle it???:poke:

I'm going to try it on my Hydrostream Valero YT just to see how it behaves on that boat. I'm currently running a Merc Chopper 24 on the little Merc 175...it should be able to spin the Tempest 25.

Finally got my "new" to me Stainless Marine 8" setback bracket back from the paint shop. It looks great with a new coat of High Gloss Black paint!! Hopefully I'll get to install it in the next couple of weeks.

Your 225 XRi will turn 6900 rpm?

Hey Jupiter, what gear ratio do you have? My 225 efi will only turn 6000 and hits the rev limiter. And with a 27" Trophy+ was running 76 gps. Just wondering. boatman
