Anyone still boating?

Due to all of my 4-wheeled projects I have not taken the Starflite out at all this year. :( I want to get out in October though, I need my V8 fix!!!

Rob

I'm going out Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Supposed to be sunny and 70's all 3. Not bad for nearly October.

3 hours or so and ~65 miles today...

It was only 90 when i went out @ 3 today, but when the sun was going down it dipped to the high 70's, lil chilly!

Cruisin @ 80... one handed, no hotfoot

It was 48 last Sun morning when I started out. It did get to shirt off warmth in the afternoon. As long as you were sitting still. Didn't last much after 3:00.

We're doing good to dipping UP into the 70s around here!! (and we consider it very nice)

Nice shots of Jup's old Stream jtaj!

Another couple of great videos BK. Speaks volumes about your setup that you can drive so effortlessly at those speeds.

Yup i went out today. Was to windy to really push it to top end but got sme good speed sent vids of speedo and boat to other threads in here

i'll be done the middle of october (weekend after canadian thanksgiving).

the latest i've been boating here was december 15, in a j-craft (ski boat), snow on the ground - damn chilly.

We will continue boating thru October weather permitting.
When it gets too cold to enjoy it we put it away, but not
until then. I'm talking about when you need to wear a winter
cap to keep your ears from freezing. Stretch it as long as
possible!!
We should still try to meet up this year. I am loosing faith in cincy weather but maybe it will turn around if I wait another 10 minutes;)

Hey yf88,

Next weekend we do an annual run down the river to Louisville.
Weekend after Lake Cumberland. Then is Saturday's on the river
somewhere between New Richmond and Aurora, weather permitting,
until it's too cold to enjoy. Come on down, mean green, the river
is great this time of year! We typically put on at Schmidt. Let me
know and we'll coordinate.

You have a GPS speed on that thing yet? My speedo is almost 10mph off, I suppose it could be from not cleaning it out though.

Louisville! sounds like fun. Never been through the locks yet. How long does it take to get down there? What kind of speeds you running? Dont forget I got a lil enchanter with a junkyard motor in it, dont know if I can keep up with the big boys!
Weather and my back permitting, I am up for it.

Down river best was 67 with a little extra timing. On the lake 64. The motor cant spin the prop any faster than about 4200rpm. Its got a 23p stamped but delta propeller saids it been reworked.

Big difference in accereration on this one and the built 355 I had.
On a plus note, I did drop off the 400 crank to the builder a week ago :D Still need to pick out the rods and decide on compression level I want for the new motor.

click on link to see vid of run the other day. only using cell phone and trying to drive in wind probably not very smart. But was fun fiance wont go fast either so i cant get any got videos or pics few on my photo bucket site un der chrsiMX-15
