Anyone still boating?

I have over 400 hrs on my 245hp 2.5. I was going to have kary rebuild her this off season anyways! He quoted me a good price last yr,This yr I'll take him up on it.

Now that the seasons over, I can consetrate on getting my self a 2nd job again. Or get started on remolding a couple of bathrooms with lots of ideals and no money!

don't be scared, mean green.

Louisville! sounds like fun. Never been through the locks yet. How long does it take to get down there? What kind of speeds you running? Dont forget I got a lil enchanter with a junkyard motor in it, dont know if I can keep up with the big boys!
Weather and my back permitting, I am up for it.

This year we are putting in down river near Warsaw on Friday night
and will head toward Louisville on Saturday morning and be back at
the starting point Saturday eve, go over to the casino and return
home Sunday morning. It is roughly a 55 mile run down, so 110 ish
overall. It will be a great run, there will be about 20 little Cigarette
boats, yes, 20' Cigarette's that can run 90 to 100 mph on flat water,
in our group all making the run, altogether there's 25 boats I believe.
The pace boats and escorts will run an average cruising speed of 35
to 40 mph and others, myself included, will hammer down off and on
then just float awhile until they catch back up. So you'll fit right in!

If the overnights are too much for you, you can put in Sat. morning
and trailer home Sat. night and just make a day of it. There will be
3 Checkmates on the run, if you'd like to be the 4th 'mate going pm
me for specific details, you won't be sorry, it's a killer time if your
into cool boats and burning fuel!!

It's been a long time since I have been there. I've never seen the place by boat.

You should check it out sometime. It's a beautiful area for boating.:D

The 800' boat ramp and huge parking lot is a plus. The only down side is the $5 parking fee but well worth it.

Went out all day today on a run. Put in down from markland dam on the Ohio and ran to Lousiville,KY. John, aka "Dogschool" was there as well as one other checkmate. Alot cigarette's there as well as donzi and a couple other go fast's. Had a blast but with 3'+ waves and high wind, I dont think anyone ran to their full. I had a couple waves come over the back of the boat and onto the engine cover while I was parked! Its been 4 hours since and I am still bouncing:eyecrazy:. Overall I think the enchanter did great in the "big water" for a smaller boat.

I was hoping to get some action shots today but almost all were of the water or sky(not that I was aiming for)! Not a great boat day only due to water conditions but was still 10x better than a good day @ work!!! Plus got to meet some good people today for the first time:bigthumb:

Glad you could make it, mean green! Normally we would all run together
instead of so spread out, river was as rough as I have seen it in some
time, the 3 to 4 footers made it seem like a typical day on lake Erie, I had
hoped for flat to light chop and more sun with less wind, but still nice to be
out in the boat in October! Brian, we do alot of that type of run and you are
more than welcome to join in. Next time we'll get you a ride in a 100 mph
20' Cigarette boat! On flat water it's a thrill ride and is awesome, in that chop
it could be a nightmare! Stay in touch. Good times!:thumb:

(I'll post a pic or two later)

Last day October 5

Last run 40F and pouring rain. Glad I had the goggles on, the raindrops felt like ice bullets. You have to love Ontario in the fall!:shakehead:
Hope you boys down south take advantage of your nice weather.

Took the Valero out tonight. Saw this at the ramp.

I redid the interior in this boat a few years back(monochromatic)to eliminate all factory highlights. This must be a new owner, the original owner had a beautiful tow rig(F-650 diesel). This guy looks like his truck wouldn't make it up the launch ramp with the boat on the trailer. The boat was also painted here in town. Real nice looking boat.:thumb:

They said they had just bought it the day before. I didn't see them pull it out of the water but the must have scraped up the bottom of that trailer going up that ramp.

Went out today and got some pics! 280 high resolution pics on file, about 10 that are amazing!

How about the playmate taking off?
