checkmate weekend 2013

Ram - I'd say we'd be interested in taking a room also when we get to firm up plans. Having the kids be able to stay at a house would be a safer option than onboard a big boat.

Also means Dad's can get out at 6am for a run before everyone is up! ;)
 
That 3rd one is sweet but pretty pricey. I do like the part about the nude sunbathing allowed and nearby.
 
If we split the last one between 3 or 4 families it wouldn't be too bad, especially considering its for a 3 day weekend. I may be in for that.

I may just rent a house on the Magothy if Dobbins island is the spot for 2013. I found a couple nice places with docks. Wife, son and I will only need one room, if anyone else would be interested in staying.

Number 3 looked nice. There is another plus to that one, no 6 knot put putting to open water. The first 2 have a pretty long "no wake, 6 knot run" to free water.

i stayed overnight at this hotel a few yrs back , it was a nice spot they have a small boat ramp and other things to do jelly fish joels is there . just thought i would mention it. its on Fairlee creek just a few miles north of the Chester river. http://mearsgreatoaklanding.com/

you can build it for me , the way things are going 85 is my new projected retirement date.
 
Alright guys, time to get the ball rolling on this again.

What is everyone's thoughts on:

Location: Magothy again? Chesapeake again? or other?

Date: Mid June again? or other?

I'm thinking the waterfront rental house with a dock is the best option with all of the families and kids. It offers a nice gather platform for everyone attending

Shirts again?

Any other added thoughts?
 
I've looked all up and down the bay and can't really find anything better. Better meaning, it suits the needs of the majority. If guys would get together on a house that would be the ticket. Give everyone a place to stay either on land or in boat. We would all be hanging together. We would all be able to come and go more without haveing to leave behind guards in case of pirates. lol Theres a new resturant/tiki bar in there now we could visit. I also like haveing no nowake zones and nice water for the most part. Theres plenty of places within reach to take nice rides too and with a pier we would be able to do longer trips into the bay leaving the smaller boats tied up.

June is good for me. I would try not to do it before. The water takes a little while to warm up.
Shirts are cool if you have time and feel like the hassel. Don't want you to loose any money on them.
