checkmate weekend 2013

Best wishes for you and your wife, hope all goes well. Sharon and i went through the same thing 2 yrs ago. after a lumpectomy to remove 2 pinhead size lumps , then chemo and radiation . so far she is doing great. they have come along way in this field. we even tried these things called penguin cold caps that you wear during chemo it wont allow the hair to uptake the chemo , its alot of work 2 large coolers of dry ice and rotate the caps every 20 to 30 mins for about 6 hrs @ -28 degress . she kept all her hair and the docs were amazed they were skeptical. anyway if you need anything please ask but hopefully you dont need to go through it.

Thanks for all your warm thoughts and intentions. This is the third time for her over the years. First two were benign. We are praying for the same this time. Sonograms are leaning in her favor.

Glad things are going well for your wife JLN. They have come a long way. I see how the procedures this time are different from the last two times.

Looking forward to this summer, boating, seeing all you guys again, and a healthy and prosperous 2013 for mine and yours.

Alright guys and gals. I need to know who is planning on staying at the house and who will be chipping towards it. I have been looking and it seems like they are starting to get booked up and I want to ensure everyone has a place if needed. I have only heard from two guys and our budget won't leave much room for extra beds.

So who is in on the house and to what extent? Once we confirm the house/location I will post up the info into the events section:cheers:

I'm in. Probably just me without family. Could take a room or just a spot on the floor. Have no idea what that means financially. Do you? Gonna stay over Sat. night. Maybe Friday night too.
Sorry to be so ambiguous.

Im not going to know till last minute so I will probably just get a hotel again in rockhall. Plus gonna have both kids with me this year. Any idea as to where we want to have it this year?

I'll say we're in with a full room and board and everything but I'd like to digress to the folks with little ones to take first pick. So for us Spencer were in for full price but if it helps others we can camp, hotel or what ever. Is that to vague???

ok so lets decide on a house and get this beotch.:bigthumb:
I need something to look forward too.

Guys tell your wifes and children this is what you want for fathers day. I am.

They all look fantastic! Keep in mind No Wake Zones, 6mph speed zones, and 6 to 10 screaming Checkmates in laid back, quaint little areas. Just trying to cover all the bases. IMHO.

"Boh ya' all"
(southern vernacular for Sim)

Is the "Glass house" on more open water/ It looks like it from the pics. They did mention water skiing in the add. Don't have time to map it now wife Is calling. I'll stay on, but away from my desk.

Anybody know if the chester is small boat friendly? The magothy was pretty rough last year. Any beaches or nice shore lines to hang out on?

The Chester is much narrower More protected from the bay and alot less boat traffic. So yes, much more small boat freindly. Don' know about beaches never been that far up. Spence has cruised it. So you bringing the family and getting a room in the house.:thumb:
