It is easy to get at when you pull the motorThat only takes 1.5 hours if you are good.
Just kidding, I don't know if you have the wooden storage boxes on the side like mine did, but with those removed you can sit on the side of the engine and work on it.
BIGBREW, wishing I had good news for you but I do not.
You have now entered the seventh circle of hell.
I removed just the backrest of the rear seat and laid on the bottom seat
pad to do the work, also have to take off the side pads between the
bolsters and the rear seat to get back rest out. Then I took off the entire
bracket with the seawater pump still attached from the motor.
(Note) If your wife has any valium in the house take this before starting,
because after you drop the same nut, bolt or socket in the bilge it is
possible to lose your temper and break unrelated items. Also mark which
way the hoses came off, if they get switched around it will instantly fry
your new impeller. If this happens the valium you took will no longer be
affective, only morphine or heroine will help at this point.
Good luck and hope you never have to change the starter or alt, their
almost as bad.
The joy of working upside down and backwards, Makes me relize how much I love an outboard boat!
