Dont be a "Dickmate"

I've seen both types. I keep my mate on Secord Lk (Titabawasee river) and we wave to EVERYONE from the local fisherman in a paddle boat to the luxury pontoons & fast boats. Seems the only time we don't get return waves is from guys that are too "macho" to wave back (maybe their muscles ache too much to lift for a wave) :irked: or old grumpy men (to which I'm not worried about).

Also, it would be nice if other mate owners would feel free to converse with each other instead of trying to look cool standing next to their boats... just saying. I can always find another cold beer in the cooler for ya! :thumb:

Hi Miller And Tony, I hope you will accept a wave from all the way over on the West Coast, from the old gray haired guy in the rather attractive small speedboat...

Im glad to see that it must be on Raystown lake only that dickmates roam! In the purple flamers defense he was about 100yds away... but all the rest were almost within spitting distance( wait ...now theres an idea)! Maybe I can just talk Toni into moving instead of getting another brand of boat!

I think Jimway has the right idea here, -- I want to toss a wave to Miller and Tony and the rest of our boating friends here on the forum........

So, from up here in NewEngland to Miller and Tony and the rest of our forum friends........

Thanks guys!! We were just up there again a few days ago & passed an awesome 40+ foot cigarette & they waved. Everytime I see a checkmate up there I tell Toni " theres a checkmate" & she always replies that she knew it was a dickmate because it was the only boat we saw that didnt wave that day!! Damn Dickmates!!

Miller - that lake looks awesome (from Google maps).

Is it as fun to drive as it looks with all the turns?
How busy does it get?

Just curious as it's 4.5hrs from me, and I'm tempted to go there with the boat for a weekend at some point to experience it.
If it's a good venue, why not organise a meet there sometime?

Great lake, deep water, around 30 miles long. Gets pretty busy during the weekends this time of summer. Gets more narrow & more conjested the further you go up the lake , from the dam. Scream & Fly are scheduling something in Sept. You'd like the lake, you'll see anything from kayaks to half a million dollar boats there...& dickmates!! We usually go up fri. after work & stay till atleast sun. night...depending on work.

hey miller maybe you should LIGHTEN up (pun intended) on the term dickmate, this is a checkmate friendly site. if a few people with checks didnt wave its no reason to rename the brand. just sayin. i would have waved at you.

& you would have been the 1st checkmate this year that did. I am in no way bashing the brand. This is my 2nd mate, my mom still owns the 81 eluder. Love the boats...cant figure out whats up with their owners at Raystown. I had a cj-7 jeep & everone you passed in a jeep always waved at each other , same way on my bike...Figured it was the same with the mates. I can remember other mates waving to us in the eluder, maybe they are all afraid that their boats can look as rough as mine in 28 years from now...the eluder's still garage kept. And always remember when the name Millers involved...its spelled Lite.

i know my spelling sucks, im just saying you posted the word dickmate many many times. even the title in a thread. i dont know whats going on at raystown lake. there are alot of boaters that i know from the chesapeake that go there. all very nice people. even when im in my canoe people wave back... in your original poat you mentioned the purple boat didnt wave back , then someone mentioned its SRT outlaws boat . and you said maybe he was 100yds away and didnt see you. maybe you should PM srt and say hi and introduce yourself . were all brothers here i meant no disrespect. but i just cant imagine two checks within spiting distance not giving a wave.

Im sensing a very dry sense of humor. The whole thread was meant to be LITE hearted & everyone else took it that way. Believe me I havent lost a second of sleep over not being waved at. If you look at the title it says "dont be", not don't own a dickmate. Sorry if I offended you or anyone else on here. Moral of the story is...if your in your boat (preferably a Checkmate), wave to other boaters (preferably in a Checkmate) ...Dont be a Dickmate.

I boat on Barnegat Bay in NJ (2400 BRX) and most people wave.
However, there are more and more people when you wave they look the other way and pretend that they did not see you. Even people who go by our house on the way in.

i get what your saying , not everyone i wave at gives a wave back. when i started reading your posts i guess the word "dickmate" seemed odd . on this site 99.99% would wave and hand you a cold beer. so there are 2 checkmates at raystown lake that dont wave back ..good to know thanks.
