my name is chris, i baught my checkmate about two years ago an spent alot of time an money on paint an stereo equipment but when summer rolled around i couldn't keep it on the lake. i had problem after problem. first it blew a head then another then the engine. now im haveing troubles finding anyone to work on it an parts.

it's a senator but not a normal one it has a plate on it that says it was custom built...whatever it's supose to mean.... im in forest city iowa near clear lake
 
sorry im new too this forum here so not use too it yet i have a senator but its custom from the factory i guess no one has ever seen on elike it anyway i'm in forest city near clear lake

Sorry to tell you but they are all "custom built" by Checkmate:poke:

what is your budget for an engine?
Please be sure what ever you buy it must be a MARINE engine, not just some automotive replacement motor! They can not handle the marine demands and they will not comply with coast guard regulations for spark prevention.

First off welcome to the site. :cheers: second, I am sorry you had problems with your engine. I'm sure once we get these issues worked out, you will be able to enjoy the great boat you have purchased. :D

well its a mercrusier 5.7 in it but whoever had it before me built the **** out of it. not to sure what all im goin to need but i dont want to spend a ton of money right now to fix it an theres not alot of places here that will work on it
