IS 10 INCHES TOO MUCH

FOUND A 10 INCH JACK PLATE CHEAP LOCALLY

IS THAT TOO MUCH SET BACK

EITHER GONNA HANG A 200 BLACK MAX OR A 235 V6 RUDE ON IT

THANX IN ADVANCE FOR THE HELP:bigthumb:

10 inches was way too much for my enticer
with a 140 hp v-4 rude hangin off the back

my rub rail in the back was just below the surface of the water with 2 people in it.

i would recomend 5 or 6 inches of setback
especialy with a v6 motor
the extra 4 or 5 inches Makes a Big difference
on how the boat rests and rides.

Seriously though, I bought my plate from Combat. If was to much for his hull,
and yours is similar to his, then it probably will not work for you as well.

This is me opening mouth, and inserting foot.

YEAH I'VE BEEN THINKING THAT 5 OR 6 INCHEC WOULD BE ALOT BETTER
BUT I CAN GET THIS 10 INCH CHEAP:(

ANY ONE KNOW WHERE A 6INCH JACK IS:confused:

your diplomat is wider and a little deeper than the enticer
it may work, but it would probably be the most that you would want

if the price is right
if it dont work you could probably sell it for the amount you got it for
and all youd be out is the time and work to put one on.

I think that you should try the 10 incher.

The Dipper is considerably larger then an Enticer. The length is the same but the Dipper is deeper, wider and heavier. My Predictor rides fine at with 6inches and a V6 at low speeds and any bouncing can be avoided with the trim button.

With the boats being the same length, the results will be the same. 10" is too much. Even if the boat is wider. you still don't have enough length to make it work. Unless you are wide open, it will bounce! boatman

For what its worth My Sportfire with a V6 needed more setback. I was running 5.5'' and i DEFINITELY needed more. I had NO issure with pourposing whatsoever. I think a 10'' would have been perfect. I was really going for top end and not so much concerned with skiing, cruising etc but like I said I never had any issues with pourposing ever....

My wife and all my old girlfriends always said that 10 inches worked great! [You had to know that was coming]

THINK I AM GOING TO TRY IT

I AM MORE LIKE BOSTON I WANT TO SEE HOW FAST MY DIP CAN GET
(ON MY BUDGET)

I DON'T SKI AND THE ONLY CRUISING I DO IS IN NO WAKE ZONES
BESIDES IT SEEMS TO ME WITH A FULL IGLOO AND MY SUBS IN THE BOW
SHOULD HELP KEEP IT FROM BOUNCING AS MUCH:surf:

AND TO WILDMAN I KNEW IT WAS JUST A MATTER OF TIME
I AM REALLY SUPRISED IT TOOK THIS LONG FOR A COMMENT LIKE THAT
:rof::rof::rof:

Shorter boats don't need all that extra set back to perform. With the weight of a V-6 it doesn't need all that extra leverage to get the boat out of the water like a 20 foot boat with same engine. I would go with 3-4" and the right prop if all you want is top speed numbers.

Thats a very subjectable claim. You are right somewhat but weight isn't a huge issue especially when in motion. Who actually knows where the line is drawn?
