Looking for information on little boats

Hello Folks,
New to this board am have some questions (I know very little about small boats) Members here seems to be very knowledgeable.

I am interested in a small boat. I think Paradise or a Fantasy F-13 are about my only options? I did some searches on this board and noticed some not so good things here about them.

Is there a difference between Paradise and Fantasy as far as build and construction?

Are there any other manufactures of boats similar to that?

When I was a kid I had a Sundance. It was a 12 footer. I sold it when I was 15. I finally tracked down the guy I sold it to,(after 15 more years) and he is 99% certain it was scrapped as it was rotten. (how fiberglass rots, I don’t know) I have never seen and can’t find any information on that style of Sundance boat. It had a gray bow and two racing stripes down the top side colored yellow and orange. It was a 2 seat closed bow. I am thinking it was a late 70’s or early 80’s. Adding to the trouble, is I can’t find one picture of it.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help.

Welcome,

Well I was kind of hoping to sneaks this one past the Mrs. - but since this is a heck of o lot closer to you than me - what the hey.

Skip the Fantasy and the Paradise - get the real thing - Hopefully it is still available.

From what I see here - you can't go wrong with the price

SCT on this board has a cool mx13 thats all redone for sale no engine. He has a stack of new parts on it.

Thanks for all the help folks. I may have found an 01 Paradise but it has been outside for all of those 8 years.

What problems should I look for?

Could it be rotten?

The owner says it is rated for a 65 horse. What are the checkmates rated for? Is 65 realistic?

What is the 01 worth? He says the gelcoat is cracking and may need to be painted. Can you paint the Gel-coat?

You guys are the greatest

Wildman - that thing looks great!
