By the way I really like the paint scheme on your Mate, looks like a fun boat. Is that a usable cuddy I see?
The cuddy has enough room for a sleep berth but that's about it....

I'm thinking of a repaint over the winter and possibly a new glass lay-up on the forward deck.

All you need is room for 2. Our next boat will have a sleeping berth, my wife loves the water and wants to spend the night on it..

:welcome:
I am a new member, just bought my first boat, A 1979 Checkmate, I am pretty sure it is an Eluder, open bow with an Evinrude 175 HP V-6 on it. Title reads 18 foot. I bought this boat yesterday after much research and thought. From what I have seen online and looking at the boat it is all original, including the titles dated 1979. Boat is in pretty good shape has a couple of spots in the clear coat that look burned out. Interior has a couple of very small wear areas but no cracking or seams ripped apart. Engine fires right up and sounds great. The floor has one spot at the walk through windshield that is soft that I will work on this winter. All lights work and all gauges work and appear original. I have not had a chance to get it out on the water yet but I am hoping for next weekend, just a short trip so I can make sure it runs good and there are no issues. Does need a new plug and the bilge pump is not coming on so I need to look at that stuff first. I do not know how to post pictures but I will post as soon as I figure it out.

Thanks for the welcome. I saw the pictures of your boat very nice, once you get it rebuilt we definitely need to get together and get some pics of our boats in action. Being new to boats I am sure i will need lots of help.

Boating in Fort Worth today after work

I am taking the boat out today after we shut down here at work. Probably just hit up lake Worth with the wife for a bit since it is going to be cold this weekend.
