Just saw this thread....you guys are too kind. Really, what a great collection of people here on checkmate-boats.com. I am all the way down here in AZ but I feel like we're all one big family. This is a bit early but I would like to plan some stops on my way to MN next summer to meet and boat with as many of you as I can. How's that sound? Maybe a central location where we can all gather?

Anyway thanks so much for the support. I'll be using some of the insurance $$$ to finish the Starflite (fully polish the gelcoat, fix some wiring, replace some pitted rails/cleats, finish carpet under bow, sound system) and hopefully lay claim to the fastest Starflite by bolting a 430hp OMC V8 to the back of it.

Boat stays with me down here in Tucson, AZ for the whole year. My parents have a lake house in Minnesota and I tow the Starflite up there for 6 weeks in July/August.
